Thomastik Powerbass VS. Circle K strings???

Has anyone done a direct comparison of the these string?

Dunno about the Thomastiks but I love my Circle Ks. Best strings I've used yet.

Can't help with the Thomastiks, but can easily do an A/B comparison between CKs and GHS Super Steel Contact Cores.

I was actually going to post this same thread. I hear great things about both. I think I'll probably go Circle K for the balanced strings and because they are half the price.

uh, Power Bass are truly spectacular and last seemingly forever... TI strings are seriously way better than most. Haven't tried the circle K as pretty much, I feel that a HUGE portion of my sound comes from my string selection. So I don't skimp on strings ... except for D'Addario Chromes - I run those on a pair of PJ's I take to 'surf'a'billy gig's. For some reason, those strings just do it for me in that setting. That they are relatively inexpensive doesn't bug me a bit!

Other than that, it's LaBella Tapes, TI Jazz Flats or Power bass with the occaisional set of TI Super Alloy's for good measure.

Try the TI's, you wont regret it.

Just to clarify, I've been using the PowerBass strings on my Lakland PJ for over 4 years and REALLY love the mid-range quality they have. I would like to find something with a similar tone, but with a little more deep-bass. I also wouldn't mind finding a less expensive alternative.

I used to own power bass string but eh I have had very odd luck with TI either way i would rate those string 9/10

Try the Superalloy then. More pronounced lows then the Powerbass and at least half the cost. Past that perhaps some DR strings but I am not familiar with all that they have to offer. Try the Superalloy though I bet you would like them. If interested shoot me a PM I help Talkbass guys out!

I have used both, though I haven't used the T-Is recently. They're both excellent string sets. (And they should be for the price.)

I prefer the Circle K "balanced" gauging. That's really all it comes down to for me.

Feel is about the same between the two. The Circle K's are noticeably brighter. I loved the feel and I could see myself using the Circle K's for certain things, but I prefer Ti's.

I'm in the same situation as the OP. Anyone have any direct comparisons? I've tried Super Alloys, and they didn't work for me.
