Double Bass Thoughts on Boss- guitar EQ for piezo Buffer

Hey there fellow bassist I just inherited a 7 band guitar EQ. pedal with the frequencies 100 200 800 1.6k 3.2k 6.4k and I was wondering if it would be a sufficient buffer with my piezo element .

It is a Yorkville- Bass Master 200XM -one 15" & Piezo Tweeter/30 watts
My pickup is just a Piezo element I took from an old Sony digital Organizer, shielded with copper Tape and soldered to a Jack.

If it's the Boss GE-7, it actually has a 1 meg input, so it would do the job for buffering. The EQ points are different than the bass version, which has a low band of 50Hz versus the guitar model's 100Hz. That might be its weakness for DB

+1 it works fine. The EQ points are OK, the GEB-7 goes up to 10k I think which is a little unnecessary. So the GE-7 maybe has a better spread across the mids.

I use this pedal (the guitar version) in conjunction with a Rev Solo II. It works! The band ranges I needed to tinker with worked better than the bass version.

The Boss TU2 chromatic pedal tuner matches impedance.
It has a 1M Ohm input on it. TU2 tuner is great, rugged , easy to read in dark, and it impedance matches.

Bought mine used, best $50 I've spent.

But not to include that $50 I spent in TJ, but California court of law won't let me talk about that anymore.

The buffer is active when the pedal is bypassed, so you don't even need to turn it on. I believe the majority of BOSS pedals use the same buffer and have a 1meg input impedance. I used to use a BOSS BF-2 Flanger as a buffer. Made for some interesting solo tones..

you upright guys find 1M buffers to be sufficient?

for guitars and other instruments, anything below 6M or even 10M causes significant low end loss with piezo pickups.

Many commercial preamps for DB piezo pickups are 1Mohm....
