Thoughts on Drummer as Lead Singer?

Atreyu's drummer sings lead quite a bit. I think it just puts more pressure on the people with non-percussion instruments to be entertaining.

ever heard of "death from above 1979"? the drummer is the lead singer, check em out, they are only a drummer and a bass player, pretty cool stuff right there.

not to mention how the drummer from kiss sings sometimes, and so does roger taylor of queen

I am strongly thinking joining this band which has their drummer as their lead vocalist. He is a decent enough singer, but I was just wondering what effect the drummer also being the lead singer might have on the band and more importantly on the audience in terms of stage presence. Cant really move around stuck behind a kit.

I've seen it done, personally I think even with a good singer it's somewhat boring to watch and visually looks hollow on stage. Anything more than a couple of songs as a novelty.....ick.

everyone else just has to move around more to make up for it. If you want to buy leather pants/other singer things, that might help fill the void
