Thoughts on Ebay transaction

I sold a bass on Ebay a few weeks ago. Yeah I know I should have sold it here but live and learn I guess. Anyhow the buyer lives in Canada (as do I) and sent me Paypal payment (echeck) the day following end of auction. It's apparently like a cheque but it's sent through Paypal and one of the forms of payment that Paypal offers. Well the day it was supposed to clear, which was yesterday (10th), the echeque is cancelled by Paypal. The guy sends me a message in pretty broken English saying sorry don't know what happened blah blah and then he sends me a second echeque payment through Paypal. These payments take 10 business days to clear. I am skeptical about this buyer. He has two feedback and a confirmed Paypal address but I can find no info whatsover on him. He also mentioned that if I had any questions to email him via Ebay website. Sounds odd. I have asked him to let me have his telephone number before this Sunday evening and I said I want to talk to him before we pursue this transaction any further. Any thoughts? Could this guy have hijacked somebody else's account and think I am dumb enough to ship the bass without receiving the fund or am I just being paranoid.....

Only e-mail / contact him through the eBay site. If there is a dispute, your evidence [DEL]may[/DEL] will be the e-mails.

+1 Ka-jillion (I know it's not a real word, but I have little kids- what can I say)

If it didn't happen on eBay, it didn't happen. And as far as they're concerned, any contact outside of eBay that YOU initiate is YOU trying to skirt the TOS, plain and simple. You're not comfortable? Cancel the sale and re-list.

Take it for what you will. Acronyms.
