I have a trade offer on one of my skinny stringed instruments. It's the blacktop Jazz Bass. What are your thoughts on it? Good? Bad? I'm a p Bass guy through guy through, and this might be a good addition.
I used to have a Blacktop Precision & if I were to do it again, I'd have gotten the Jazz.
My Blacktop had a noise issue, which was weird since it has humbuckers.
As I've said many, many times before, it's an incredibly aggressive instrument, yet it can still be mellowed-out nicely by favoring the neck pickup and adjusting the tone. The quality of mine was also quite nice. I, and others, have speculated that Fender was cherry-picking some of the better necks and bodies from the Mexico factory to give the then-new Blacktop Series an impressive start.
As far as the pictured model is concerned, I think someone got a little cray-cray with the bling-bling.
