Thoughts on the Yamaha TRB 1006

Hey guys, sorry if this thread already exists.
I'm about to purchase an Yamaha TRB 1006 and would like to know if any of you own this bass and what are your opinions about it.

I used to have one and had to let it go when I fell on some hard time. I regret that decision EVERY DAY! To date it's the best bass I've ever had. I wish I could get it back.

I dearly want another TRB5, but don't want the 35" scale of the TRB 1005's.

Hi,

I'm really fond of my TRB1006. Totally different from my 2 other 6-strings, a home made bass with Ken Smith soapbars, and a Tobias.
I did replace the pickups with home made PU's, see http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f38/so-do-these-pickups-sound-like-fender-jazz-740998/
I like the TRB for rock, whereas I prefer that Tobias for more gentle stuff. And the Ken Smith sound is awesome for recording.
The TRB's slap sound is also very cool: it has much more body than most slapped basses. And the low B is very nice, probably because of the 35 inch scale.

How much the TRB weights and is it comfortable playing stand , any neck diving ?

Not sure about the weight, but it's kinda heavy.. Neck dive shouldn't be a big problem if you use a wide strap.
