Thread for people with join dates 2002 and older

Good to see y 'all. I would have joined sooner but was still enjoying Kevin verses the world on TBL (some epic Fbass vs Fodera battles). Embarrassed to say I followed him here, but glad I did. Also spent time at the Dudepit (what ever happened to him) ? Some oldtimers over on the dwindling fenderforum (lotsa knowledge still there). Been a long time since reading Harmony Central reviews. I like it here best of all!

I was a member over at the Dudepit too. It was a pretty good site early on, but the wheels just kind-of fell off. Not sure what really happened..?

TB before 2002? Phssst, if you haven't been a member of alt.guitar.bass and argued with Peter Duncan about the merits of composite necks, you are a noooooob. :D

The stuff of legends. And it wasn't just merits, it was the complete and overwhelming superiority.
:D

So when he went on a Fender and then Sadowsky buying binge, with similar rants..

Don't forget the great Duncan/Brad wars. My personal favorite was the "can you slap on fretless? question. Brad posted a nice cut of himself doing so on a recent recording, and Duncan critiqued the playing negatively, and kept missing when Brad repeatedly told him he played what he was asked play.

I still don't post clips because of that.
PD and I had too many weird encounters to count. That could only happen on an unmoderated board like alt.guitars.bass

Apparently I wasn't "serving the song" by playing the bassline as written by the guy who was paying me.
:D

Trivia: I was slapping on my Carvin LB75 fretless.

Good seeing the old timers in this thread. I was on TBL, AGB, Fender forum and the Dude pit too.
