Thru-body gives this way deeper thump that, in my opinion, is sort of lacking. Stringing it through the bridge still allows the trebles to shine through.

Have seen many basses with hybrid bridges. Meaning they can be loaded either way and have had previous owners strings the low B and E through body and others throug bridge.
Maybe less string breakage? No clue.
