Thunderbird Club Pt 6

Just want to chime in and mention that I got one of the most amazing tones I've pulled in a while last night:

Gibson Thunderbird w/ebony board solo'd on the bridge pickup, tone wide open ->Meatsmoke Preamp -> Mesa 400+ on Ch 1 -> Ampeg USA 8x10.

It was amazing and truly awe inspiring. Just wanted to share my love of thunderbird with you.

Just received my Hipshot Supertone bridge for the Epi TB. Looks awesome. I assumed for some reason it would be a lot heavier but it's actually lighter than the original, smaller 3-point I think. Definitely feels more solid. 10 minutes of work and it's good to go. Probably the best upgrade I've ever done to a bass.:bassist:

Still perplexed as to what exactly the one offset allen screws do on each saddle. I turned them a couple times but didn't see anything happen. I assumed it was to adjust side-to-side but like I said, I didn't see any movement.

It's to adjust the string spacing. Main reason I got this bridge. :) See my earlier post with screenshot. I have the spacing as narrow as possible.

Thanks guys. Just got that epi non-reverse 5ver in an hour ago....uhhh, No. Way too close spacing. For me at least. I'm used to 35in scale, 18mm spacing. Sounds good. Great look. Good for pick player or smaller hands I assume. Paid $300 98' kept under bed bass so couldn't pass it up though.

As I mentioned, I just did not get on well with the I had, same reasons. It really put me off 5 string basses, I need to get Gibson Studio 5er to fix that :)
