The ad says shipping to North America is $135, which would make the total $700 even. Still seems like a pretty good price....if you trust it to not get damaged in transit.

I posted this back in club II. but i may have better chance at getting an answer without looking through 50 pages:

I'm thinking of moving the strap pin on my goth thunderbird and I have two locations in mind and wanted your advice:
1- replace existing top right bolt screw with pin
2- drill hole in neck plate (gibson style)

I'm getting dunlop dual system straplocks for the bird.

Feedback, opinions, etc. which is better.
NOTE: I've previously moved the bottom pin to the left of the bass and the pictures are only for reference to my locations.

yeah i did the same with the bottom one when i bought it but i don't want to put the upper pin in that position. it looks weird to me and i feel that my strap will not fit on that small space. but thx for the suggestion

Ok, so I'm playing my Friday night gig. Nothing unusual; I brought out my Lakland JO-5, a new project Fender P that I built for my kid, and the Blackbird. What bass gets all the comments? Especially from other bassists??? Now I gotta field questions like, "What year is that?" and "What pickups are those?"... Damn, no one ever told me owning a Thunderbird would be so... complicated.

it gets MORE interesting when you slightly modify them and the pickups are even more odd looking..

Changing the subject slightly, I'm gonna try some green neons on the Blackbird for my NYE gig - that'll really make it more subtle... right? They should have a similar tone to the Black Beauties - I'll let you know... Anyone else try neons on a 'bird here???

I just posted a set of black beauties for sale in the approp section....wrong gauge for me!!! I think the pink strings would throw people off big time!

That was a simple PG I made from some sheet styrene cut out by hand and drilled using the Epi orignal as a template. I graphited the backside of the art and penciled it on after the PG had been airbrushed with white laquer, Drinky was colored in with Sharpies and some airbrushing - finished with a couple coats of clear gloss overcoats for protection and shine. Total time in was maybe two hours over a couple days.

My Christmas present to myself a NOS '77 Thunderbird guard for my black, unbroken '77 Thunderbird. Funny back in the day most off us including me pulled these off and made our own I had a laminated wood guard and made my own 60's style guards. Now we pay silly prices for these things!

Hey Jaymi,

Here's some pics of the 3 point, it's a Gibson originally from my white 1989 Thunderbird. These have been made by several suppliers for Gibson over the years and while they all appear the same the do differ in small details. As you can see this one is well worn with wear on the tops of the saddles, needs a good cleaning too. Note the arch, not a trick of the camera.
