I've been lurking this thread for a long time. I've always been a huge fan of Thunderbirds and have owned two or three over the years. I had a Blackbird 10 or so years ago. I wish I still had it eventhough I never really liked the way it sounded. Maybe now that my ideas about tone have "matured"...I currently own an Epi Bird that I plan on making into a Fenderbird and I just picked up a 5-string Thunderbird Studio from Jaibeau here on TB. This bass has been through it, but I like the way it plays and I got a few mods planned. Anyway, here they are:

It says on the site that its got a slim taper D neck (not sure what it means but it sure plays well!!)

I was expecting chunky, but I got slim! Very nice profile, in my opinion. Way flatter than what I was expecting.
