I went in, made the final layaway payment, and picked up my new Thunderbird today. Epiphone Limited Edition Custom Shop model, alpine white finish with all chrome hardware and pickups. Dead mint condition too. It plays great, and sounds phenomenal.

A visitor - New Gibson long scale Explorer.
I'll have it for a month or so, then it'll wing it's way to Germany.

I will def post a full review once I get it. I've owned countless basses but never a bird or a Lull. Can't wait to try it out!!!

Hey,

I have been meaning to ask this for a while..What is this discoloring on my TBird? Is it common?

How long have you had that white bird? I seem to recall seeing that one- or one with a similar discoloration- on Ebay a while back. My guess would be that it might be from a cloth or towel or something that someone may have had over a guitar stand to keep the rubber on the stand from eating away the nitro finish? Just a guess...

Just had to share this - the transformation of my 1990 tbird is complete! Removed all the stock black hardware to make room for a set of '66 Thunderbuckers & Hipshot bridge. Very anxious to plug in and shake the floor.

Just had to share this - the transformation of my 1990 tbird is complete! Removed all the stock black hardware to make room for a set of '66 Thunderbuckers & Hipshot bridge. Very anxious to plug in and shake the floor.

I think Gibson would sell way more "birds if they just offered a chrome hardware option, again a beautiful classic look.
