Thunderbird Club Pt III

It's here! Initial impressions are "odd". By that I mean, I've never owned a Thunderbird of any sorts before. From body shape to sound, it is just different from anything I've ever had, so too early for me to give it a good review. I am amazed at how light it is, simply amazed. Sounds good too and seems just with a quick fiddling around that it is surprisingly versatile.

I'll spend some time with it this weekend and write up a real review that doesn't include the word "odd"! Forgive the T-Bird newb!!!! I'll also take some good pictures.

I was excited to see Dunlop straplocks on it! I also love that it doesn't flip or tilt away from you (I had an Aria Pro II ZZB explorer bass for a short period that hung terribly like that).

OK. Here is my updated Studio 5 String. A new set of 66 Thunderbuckers, a new stainless steel pickguard and a complete rewire with new pots and a .o47 cap. This thing sounds good! Used it last night for the first time at a show and it stole the show! People couldn't stop talking about it. lol! Had a great time last night!

Very cool! Can you post some more pics of the bass? How does the B string sound with those pickups?

Since my goth bird has been resurrected with new dunlop bass strings (45-105), and sounds incredible. I've been having a thought about rounding the neck/body socket. I think it may stop the digging in my hand when i slide down to the upper frets and it may also help with a bit of reach.

what do you guys think?

Yes what is hard is my current major G.A.S. spell. lol :rollno:
Letting go of awesome basses and loosing my shirt in the process.
Hope it all ends up cool in the end...
Might get another Bird down the road once this G.A.S. pain settles down a bit :D
