Yes, not sure how to tell how old they are. Research says they only made them in US during the 60s and 70s.

If I were in your position able to buy an Epi Blackbird today, I’d do it immediately. They’re pretty rare. And easy to sell if for some reason you don’t like it (I’m on the hunt for one myself). Then look for a white used VP at your leisure and get one when you find it. And remember, there’s no such thing as having too many Thunderbirds.

Glorious tone from her DC.
She's mainly a MM Sterling player for what I've seen, the fact that she could be convinced to play anything other than the ugly Sterling that she has is surprising enough.
Yes, I was thinking of just using a power amp or going to the board and just hearing myself in the monitors. This will likely never happen as I like to hear my Ampeg too much. But, there may come a time when that head and 410 just doesn't fit or work well. I have a Sansamp VT deluxe that I use as a DI (by-passing the head) and could easily use that as a pre as well, but the grit on that has never been that pleasing. Not like the EBS.
You are a better man than I am for hanging in that long. Or worse!I kind of liked it for about two minutes (Blink 182) except for the juvenile sounding autotuned vocals, then it became annoying and it got turned off.
I like a lotta AC/DC, not withstanding that they keep doing the same song(I completely understand what you're saying. Mel's tone is nothing I would likely ever use, but I like it in some of their stuff. Most distortion I don't care for at all (Lemmy), realizing there is likely more of it than we notice in most recordings.
As for the droning 8th notes...so you don't like AC/DC.Fortunately I never had to play any years ago when they were the thing. Not that some of it doesn't sound good, I just didn't want to waste my immense skill playing //////////////// for most of a song.

). Hey, it works for them, I'm sure they laff all the way to the bank. If we were playing any of their songs, I'd play it like that. I also like a lotta ZZ Top. The late Dusty didn't do much walking either.

Aaaack!I find it bo-o-oring. I'm fully aware that much of the current R&R has that feel. Prolly a major part of why I'm not fond of newer [stuff].
