Crummy cell phone photo, but you get the idea. Lowe Custom Guitars P-Bird on the left, random bits Tele-Bird on the right. Lots of finish sanding on the random bits body. The Lowe Custom body didn't need any sanding, and the grain has already been polished off. It either didn't need to get the grain raised a few times, or it's already been done. The P-Bird neck and body are hands down nicer than the Tele-Bird. Good thing I'm really a bass playist.
I'm still leaning toward tobacco burst finish on both, because I'm kinda boring that way. And because it's a stealth thing. It's harder to count 'em if they all look the same. But, I'm open to suggestions, so long as they are outrageous. Hot rod metal flake, fluorescent, and iridescent colors are...
