Thunderbird Club

Thanks. I’m in SF Bay Area, and at this point it seems like just a typical rainy day, here at least. Something we haven’t had much the last 6 years or so. However, with the ground being so saturated, this “typical” rain is likely causing trouble somewhere.

Good luck West Coasters. I hope you don’t go through our last few years.

First year the ground was so dry from drought the water just ran into creeks and rivers and flooded. The next couple of times the ground was still so waterlogged the new rain couldn’t be absorbed. You guessed it, floods. Around here each successive flood a bit higher that the previous.

There are still follow up floods happening from the last lot. It takes a good while for all that water to flow though the river system and to the sea. Currently flooding along the Murray River (forms the border between NSW & Vic, then goes through Sth Aust to the sea).

I usually get TransitChecks from work, so I don't have to worry about the subway fare. But agreed. If it's just PBR, I'll buy my own. At the gig on Wed., Jeff very kindly bought me a Peak IPA. It was very enjoyable.
Life's too short for PBR. I seem to get offered beers before I play, and it's usually better for me to wait until set#2.

Pabst Blue Ribbon. Once a forgotten relic of the past, but hipsters have made it popular for quite a few years now.
In terms of taste, it's no Mickey's Big Mouth!! :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Same here. September by EW&F comes to mind. It’s a blast to play, but I wouldn’t listen to it.

You're a better man than me, as they say. I have never been in the position to play a song I didn't care for (which for me comes under not wanting to listen to it) and I don't see that happening in my future. It's part of the reason for starting/leading my own band. It's not like I 'dislike' a particular song - it's just that I would rather not have to learn and play it. Luckily that's part of playing for fun, so I never have to worry about it.

mudslides on 101 off Morgan Hill this morning..

And today is a 'light rain' day. (sun just came out here in SF) More 'rain cyclones' starting tomorrow ~

Our rehearsal space had water seepage (not quite "flooding" - but all of our carpets were ruined) issues two Saturdays ago when the rain really picked-up. Paul & I built a drum-riser in case it happens again. What we won't do for our drummers... (well sorta' - they are my drums!)

Beer and a subway token is like beer and gas money for the rest of us. And yeah, a couple beers is plenty for me. Free beer is usually PBR, which means I buy my beer after playing.
If you cauterize your tastebuds the PBR will be fine and you can save some money. Come to think of it, I would have thought the PBR would have done that already.

September is a really fun song to play - for me. (It’s actually interesting how much the tempo varies in the original)
But I wouldn’t think of spinning the album.
