Might have something to do with royalties. A cynic in me says that Waters doesn't want to pay anything to Snowy White if he doesn't have to 'though I'm not sure if Snowy was entitled to any in this case. He just played on the track (or linking track).

You have to be wrong about Waters. He would never ever do something that would be an advantage to his economics to the detriment of another's given all his harping and preaching on such things. Not Rodger! ;):D

Yup. An expensive, not very well paid hooby.
The musician joke applies: a person who loads $5000 of gear into a $500 car to drive 50 miles to make $100.

Except I usually don't get paid $100 if I get any money at all. Gas money and a decent beer is a gig bonus.

Beer and a subway token is like beer and gas money for the rest of us. And yeah, a couple beers is plenty for me. Free beer is usually PBR, which means I buy my beer after playing.
I usually get TransitChecks from work, so I don't have to worry about the subway fare. But agreed. If it's just PBR, I'll buy my own. At the gig on Wed., Jeff very kindly bought me a Peak IPA. It was very enjoyable.

:rollno: Hops are a preservative, not a flavor :vomit:

Not completely true, the bitter should just balance the sweet of the malt.

Actually hops are a weed. They are a pain in the butt to deal with. Somebody planted hops in a neighboring yard, and I have been pulling hops vines out of everything every summer along that property line ever since. I sure like 'em in beer, though.

See if you can sell them to local breweries.
I can see the label hype now. Genuine backyard hops. Never mind the Yakima hops or any of that fancy stuff. This is the real deal. Limited quantities.

It would be limited, too. Those vines aren't very productive in the back yard.

Too bad you don’t know the varietal. Some are in short supply and go for good money.

Ken being the gracious man he is, treated me to a pre-gig beer at this awesome beer factory bar.
I also get the yearly unlimited TransitChecks as my option from work.

Free beer is my goal. And I'm perfectly happy with that.

…and it gets me out on a weekend night with new people, (the other bands and their people) since I rarely go out on the weekends anymore. Being in 2 bands and running a small business, which has me working “in the field” (lots of driving), pretty much means anytime I don’t HAVE to be somewhere, I’m not going ANYWHERE.

Thanks. I’m in SF Bay Area, and at this point it seems like just a typical rainy day, here at least. Something we haven’t had much the last 6 years or so. However, with the ground being so saturated, this “typical” rain is likely causing trouble somewhere.
mudslides on 101 off Morgan Hill this morning..
