Thunderbird Club

Okay, finally got a pic of me playing my TBird and it's fuzzy. Anyway, once I moved the strap button, it's pretty damn comfy to play.

I'm in no doubt what you say is correct Scott...

But to me it's a visual thing as well - I just prefer the clean and simple look of the 3-point bridge, which to this day hasn't caused me any problems... :)

+1 on this. After i reset the back bushings on my Goth bird, i got great action. It plays well, plus i like the look of the 3 point. And since i'm staying with a gothinc/punk look, and there's no two point in black, ill stick with my 3 point :D

Here's a band photo from my new gig:

I am loving my T-bird. Wife says "it's ugly." Best bass tone I've ever gotten (in 30+ years playing). And, it looks both nasty and classic all at the same time. The fact that Motley Crue and Kings of Leon are T-bird bands is awesome.

OK, that's all I got for now. Peace!

+1... Although I prefer the 3-point lookwise, the BadBird bridge is SO much nicer looking than the Supertone bridge... :)
Thanks! I developed the Badbird for 60's Thunderbirds that have the two point /tailpiece, it installs without modification to the bass, "intonation without modification" ( my mantra) for 60's Thunderbirds. Unfortunately installing the Badbird on modern Thunderbirds requires the installation of the 60's style tail piece and that does require three screw holes so you would have to be very sure you want to install the bridge.

Just by curiosity, is there any sort of formula for how far the tailpiece has to be from the bridge/saddles, or is it arbitrary?

What do wife's know about T-birds...? ;)

Us bird lovers may be a minority, but we are a dedicated group - We're already on Part 8 of this Club as they are on the Fender Precision Club, and still gaining in on them... ;)

Nice picture, btw. :)

That is a really nice live picture! :bassist:

Thank you Michael.

I'm always happy to give credit where it's due, the photog is very good and patient - for every shot that I post she probabaly shoots 20-30 that are tossers 'cause I'm making some horrendous bass face. She also reminded me that it's important to put only the best pics out there, not just whatever you might get. It's been a good relationship between her and the band over the last 5 years :)

One of my faves.......
