Thunderbird Club

1962, my first game at the Stick. They beat the Cards in the bottom of the ninth when the wind had the centerfielder running in circles. No, he didn’t make the catch.
Cool. So you were what, five? That bobble head is likely worth a few bucks. But you’ll never sell it.

I didn’t go to a Dodger game until ‘65. As a young kid in San Diego, my Dad took us to dozens of minor league Padres games when they were in the PCL. But we were Dodger fans through and through.

Yep, 5.

And you and Rosa contributed so much to making the first two so memorable. Thank you again for opening up your home to us. I’ve made friends I’ll have for the rest of my life and am so grateful.

The first year was small, but so much fun. This year more than doubled in size. Attendees from Seattle, Vancouver, Chandler AZ, Round Rocks TX, SoCal and NoCal and, of course, Brooklyn. Next year we’re hoping for a couple more from Canada, a couple more from WA and OR, Donnie, Mr. Gator, Ken, Roger, Brian, Bob and others from back east, and maybe we can coax Geoff to fly in from Sydney. And we need to get Mike to fly out from FL. And Willy from Albuquerque (we’ll need to make sure he doesn’t have pliers).

Let the hilarity begin. I want a pic of all of us on the Space Needle observation deck.

Wish I could help... what are CNC plans ?
For my 7enderBirds, I either lift the neck off an Aerodyne Jazz Basses and sell the body, or purchase a neck separately. I bring all my pieces to a luthier and ask him to "make it go", just like a good ol'Pakled.

CNC plans can be input into a CNC machine, which will automatically cut/route.
CNC machining is a subtractive manufacturing process that involves removing part of a workpiece using instructions from a CAD model to make a product.

I doubt your luthier uses one. He will likely have a router template something like this (maybe not double sided):
Neck Pocket Routing Template for Fender - StewMac

It's just a matter of determining the depth and placement of the neck pocket so the neck works with the bridge you are using.

Hence your previous question re moving the bridge down on the VP body to accommodate the Epi IV neck in my contemplated Reverse II build using the VP body and an Epi IV neck. In studying it, the VP bridge will have to be moved toward the bottom some. Approximately half an inch or more. Which is fine. I won’t be trying to preserve the current finishes at all. But I’ll have a nice shaped mahogany body and a nice neck to work with. Plus the bridge, tuners, and electronics from the incoming broken VP.

Moving the bridge back will make look even more like a 60's :)
I'd go with the Hipshot small clover tuners, except try to get them in all chrome.

Do you know if there is a template for an Epi IV Tbird neck?

I’ll just leave this right here. Going next Friday night to see them play the hated Giants. I’m a bit concerned about this weekend’s series with the M’s. Go Dodgers!

I don't watch baseball these days, but there's just something about seeing Dodger Stadium that always brings memories of watching on TV.

Roger that. I like Hipshot tuners (Bridges not so much. Sorry Hipshot fans, no offense intended). They took a crummy MIM Mustang, because the tuners were junk, and turned it into a great bass once I installed them. And I have no issues with them on the ‘21 NR, even though they are the imported licensed ones and not Hipshot USAs.

There is no better place on earth to watch a game. San Diego’s Petco is wonderful. And whatever they call where the Giants pay is great. My daughter raves about Fenway; she goes all the time. But. Dodger Stadium is the end all to beat all. Come out next year. We’ll go to a game. My treat.

The best thing about Fenway for me is that one side is Lansdowne St. Lots of music venues along it. I've seen tons of bands there, including Motörhead. One cool dynamic is if you catch it at the right time, you'll get drunk sports fans pouring out of Fenway at the same time people are heading to rock shows.

I've never had an issue with the Licensed version. Kinda ironic that Gibson uses them.
