Thunderbird Club

I had one at a rehearsal space shut down when I was trying to play reggae with it. I think the head part of the combo was getting too hot. Then again who knows what abuse it suffered before I plugged into it?
and that brings up an excellent (controversial) point, same happened to me with an Ampeg PF-500 driving a fridge at a local rehearsal spot recently…..keep in mind, (fmi) nothing at a 60$/hr rehearsal room is gonna sound decent unless brand new or recently serviced, that stuff takes a serious beating……more importantly, although not advertised, class D stuff’s lifetime is more directly affected by semiconductor aging, that although real across all semiconductors plays more of a role in Class D gear MTBF (mean time between failures) and EOL (end of life) …..iow, to get that much performance from ever shrinking packages one must push semiconductors to a point where a smaller than previously considered tolerance drift over time will result in shorter product lifetime….since warranty periods are usually a year long, this guarantees proper operation for at least that period of time….not unlike older technology where caps and tubes have to be replaced after a period of time, miniaturization has made it to where you just replace the whole Class D head….(think iPhones)….so, moral of the story, don’t buy used Class D stuff…… all that said….it could have been a blocked fan, seen that happen as well……

Hanging out with some different Birds last night.

Museum of Flight had a really fun event, the curator spoke for about an hour about WWII aircraft nose art, where it came from, differences between the PTO and ETO, lots of great slides very enjoyable. After that there were some aerialists and burlesque performers, what a fun show!

My not so classy chassis and the M-21....That's a classy chassis.

Well, lotsa Cubans and they brought their recipes. BTW, Cuban food is-generally-not spicy(hot)but is spicy(flavorful). "Spicy" has evolved into meaning hot. Nope.
was surprised to see Puerto Ricans use chili when they never used to…a local explained PR got very popular with Mexican tourism recently……
