Thunderbird Club

They're so cool! Not really the right bass for my band.....
But, I'd love to have one all the same.
I'll always love this vid of Free, what an amazing band, the sound, the space between the notes! Andy Fraser is like all of 17-18 years playing this, yeah, an EB-3 and some Marshalls! It was music like this that really made me want to play the bass (even if I don't play like this).

Bass player writes the song and it at least 50 seconds before he even plays a note, dig that big, woofy tone!

1970-72, I was in a group playing keys, sax, and flute. I only played bass(66 EB-3 not slot-head*)on one song: "All Right Now". Pretty much nailed it.
I didn't/don't like Fraser's tone on the record. Much better on this live version. IMNSHO.

*didn't have the 67NR yet

Really cool! Bolder even makes a little clam @about 3:00. The EB-3 seems to sound fantastic through a Marshall set up, wonder what he was using.
Ruined the whole performance.;) Got a really good sound outta that rig. Even the 'clam' was really clear.

Side note: Like a lotta singers(including me), Bowie had his lips right on the mic. I wonder how often studio mics get cleaned...
I use my own.

Got me thinking about bacon baklava :D
sounds like Jeff would rather see you post that stuff on the Ricky thread…:D
