Sweet!

Interesting head. That a V-4-AV (V-4BH)? Mine is the typical AV. My BH and looks like a SVT. Sounds more like one as well than the AV head which is brighter and aggressive.
Yep, with a ‘73 V2 on top They made the V4B-AV in 2005, right at the end of the SLM era. It’s just a V4BH in silverface. The V4B (maybe re-issue is a better description?) is not exactly like the early ‘70’s V4B, but it is a different animal than the V4BH, as I’m sure you know. Specs show a total gain at flat of 59db for the V4BH compared to 64db for the V4B re-issue.

Hope you have it strapped to the wall.
It ain’t going anywhere. Solid house. Solid built in. Of course who knows if if comes to a 7.5 or thereabouts. Least of my worries if that happens. I’m too old to perseverate over that stuff. All the recent quakes only dislodged a camera sitting on a stand. Are they relieving stress? Or a precursor to the big one.? Who knows. There are more important things to worry about. I live on a fault. But so do most people in Cali. Hurricanes and fires cause a lot more damage in the US than quakes. We don’t have hurricanes. Fire is the most immediate concern.

In that case, don’t leave any basses in front of it.

My only concern about a BIG quake is that I live near the bay, on what equates to mush and rubble, in a house with a slab foundation, which is already taking liberties with the word “level”, AND a mere couple of miles up the creek that is a block away from me is the Crystal Springs dam, on lower “San Andreas” Reservoir. I mean, it’s in the name, right?

If that dam goes, oh boy…

Can you say liquefaction?

I can see it happen every season. Gates and doors that work good int the winter, drag in the summer. The minor cracks in the Sheetrock in a couple of spots in my house change between wet and dry season.

During the last drought it obviously wasn’t noticeable, but once we had the rains again, I was reminded…
Considered slabjacking? The injected material isn’t affected by moisture changes in the soil…within reason.

Something I should look into, but of course I’ll bet it’s expensive.

If I can ever get my priorities straight, I’ll start spend money on my dwelling instead of on basses and amps…

I’m getting better, not buying anymore, just using what I have and selling. The SS ‘bird was the last purchase and there are no other items I think about anymore.

It's different now that I live in the Mission SF, but when I lived in Pacifica (still consider it my spiritual home and visit often) I had a philosophy of... when "the big one" happens... surfs up!"

They recently did a lot of work on it...

I just did a read up on it. That dam has been there since 1888! At the time it was the biggest concrete structure in the world. The recent work enhanced it’s ability to withstand earthquakes and it was raised a little to allow more capacity before spilling over.

I ride (bicycle) over it often and have since the early '90s when living in Burlingame as a member of Penisula Velo bicycle club. They took about 5-6yrs to upgrade it, maybe more. I frankly wouldn't mind being on a bike ride on Cañada Rd when "the big one" hits - I can think of worse ways to go...

I have an AD200 and OBC115 that stays at the Red Sun Ruins rehearsal space, and another AD200, OBC115, and a hard to find OBC210 that get used live (not always the 210). BUT I also have an Orange Terror Bass 500 and two OBC112’s that is going to get used more and more live. It sounds good, it all fits in the trunk of my car and, it’s LIGHT (at 58 and counting, light is good!).
At 79 and counting, my Rumbles(16#, 22#, 34.5#-1 per gig) are about all I can handle.

Kind of sad the original cabin it's there. Who knew he would be such an historical figure. (Oddly enough both Civil War presidents were born in Kentucky.) It's not but about an hour if that to the Corvette factory and museum in Bowling Green. Nashville maybe another 45 minutes or so from there.
T’Bird Club Weekend!

“We are the Men,
We will see you again!”

Don’t think they did though. :(

That copyright infringement was way out of kilter too.

Are Tsunami’s a concern with California earthquakes?

Mr P fixed my Ashdown 550 Spyder of which I'm eternally grateful - it's old school by now but I love this amp!

I can understand. I would be tempted to grab one if one came up very reasonable. Had a former drummer and sound guy comment yesterday on how improved my sound with with the ABM head. Said he could simply hear me better--and it sounded good. From where I was standing, I think I may slightly prefer my Ampeg all tube head with the '64 Pbass I used yesterday.
