Has he posted any photos yet. I would think shipping might be a bit costly, but no sales tax…@ Chuck: No it's refinished

Nothing Irv couldn’t change. Looks nice.He sent me a few pics. But I don't think he's on TB
A young friend already calls me Old Man.I'm happy to call you Pop Pop, Grampy, Old Fart, Grandpa, Old Granddad (oh, that's a....), whatever you prefer. And I'm already house trained (generally), and have a real job and won't ask you for money, and you can skip all those problem teen years.
Oh, and Poppy, for Christmas I've was really hoping for a Thunderbird.
That's a great looking color. Too bad it isn't a reverse, although Bach never made reverses. He sent me a few pics. But I don't think he's on TB
They actually did. Prior to the BaCHbird they made a Reverse for a very sort while. That's a great looking color. Too bad it isn't a reverse, although Bach never made reverses.

And not Boss?A young friend already calls me Old Man.
I wish I could go, but due to the debt I have to pay off after the death of my mother last year, I simply can't go anywhere for at least up coming three years.Hey Blaze! You were in our thoughts at the GTG at the end of July when we went to the museum of Flight. It would be cool to to tour it with you and learn what you know about the history of planes.
Haha! Yes exactly! Honestly some of Gibsons work in the 60s wasn't thier finest. Nonreverse Thunderbirds being a prime example.
Ouch. Losing a parent is bad enough.I wish I could go, but due to the debt I have to pay off after the death of my mother last year, I simply can't go anywhere for at least up coming three years.
Thanks, just what I needed to know.Active pre-amp. No switch. Unique to the Pro IV and V.
Seeing that picture reminds me of the fact that shortly before his death, Gary Moore sold his famous Peter Green owned Gibson Les Paul.Depends on bidding. Hs could be re-united with work but it would only be worth it if it could be "won" cheap. As in - under $100, which is not likely. Removing a "neck-thru" neck is a major skilled job. I wouldn't attempt it.
I always find it funny to see the one glaringly major design flaw of a Thunderbird once again illustrated. Other than Jaco's J which was thrown over an amp to a roadie on the wrong side of the stage... that just isn't an issue for a Fender bass and never has been. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Leo Fender's contribution to musicians - he made instruments for working musicians, instruments that could be quickly repaired/fixed to get them back on stage the following night. This is when a working musician had only one bass.
At the luthiers shop the next morning..."I have a T-bird with a severed hs..." - "...and you have another bass to play while I repair it over the next month?"
Jaco's resurrected "Bass of Doom" repaired by Luthier's Kevin Kaufman and Jim Hamilton. Pictured: Kevin Kaufman w/Jaco picking up the repaired bass.

Gary Moore. All that needs to be said. One of those rare players that only come along once in a while.Seeing that picture reminds me of the fact that shortly before his death, Gary Moore sold his famous Peter Green owned Gibson Les Paul.

As we all know, that guitar eventually ended up in the hands of Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett, who is a BIG Gary Moore fan. But people were grumbling; "What's the deal, this guitar should return to Peter Green!"

Fact is that Green was offered his Les Paul back, but he took just one look and said "God no! Look at the state it is in!" Yeah, because Gary Moore played it to death, and it bore all the scars of him having done so. Green apparently wasn't a fan of all the road worn MOJO, Gary left on that guitar. I'm pretty sure that if Green had his way, he'd had it refnished and restored, much like Jaco's bass.

Peter Green and Kirk Hammett did meet and showcased the guitar together, shortly before Green died.
And to tie it all together, who owns and plays Jaco's bass of doom?

Metallica's Robert Trujillo.
Well, I guess that settles it. I need to look for one. They actually did. Prior to the BaCHbird they made a Reverse for a very sort while.
