That's a really nice looking 360. It lived an easier life than most of those did. Or somebody gave it a whole lot of TLC. Mine is a very early production example, or maybe even near prototype, and the switch for the "tuning fork" thing doesn't look anything like that switch. It's some kind of goofy push button. Who knows where it came from. It was probably in a parts bin and the guy assembling the preamp head just pulled it out and used it. I have to take mine apart and clean a whole lot of black paint off the faceplate and polish it all back up again.

One more project that will be a while before it gets done.

SIT Power Flat on most of the birds. EBCF on the CP. Tried Power Steel, but just not for me...bad technique.
I bought a set and cut them for typical Fender style so no go on a Thunderbird. I love the DTFs. Two sets arriving Monday. I need to try the SIT flats on something else. I didn't care for them, but also didn't let them mellow. Or it just could have been the wrong bass.

I was wondering how much of the sound was effects until he started comparing pickups. Kinda amazing how good those sound in a guitar. I didn't like them all that well in a bass guitar. Putting them in a guitar sure makes me like them a lot. Another reason to finally learn to play guitar someday. I wonder what they would sound like in an SG.
They did. Keep in mind that Epi says those are not Epi 760s as they don't sell them. Possibly the maker does, but you would think Epi would send them a C&D letter for slapping Epi stickers on them.

Cool stuff and journey.

I've had my Reverse since '81 maybe '82, but always thought the NRs I saw Leon play was funky cool. And hard to see or play in person. Never played one till I got the '66 NR project. Nothing I don't love about it. Original pups would be nice, and maybe one day I'll run across some. In the meantime I have a great looking, great sounding NR. Just wish I wasn't 62 before my first encounter.

Honestly, when I was first starting out - I was pretty clueless. I've lived long enough to fully appreciate the basses/amps I own/play. When I was 13, as long as it was loud - it was good.
