Another new guy here, thought id say Hi

Currently have an alpine white epi tbird classic pro, formerly owned a epi goth tbird I bought to experiment with setups and modding on (talk about extremes, all black to all white!)
Swapped the pro's bridge to a hipshot I scavenged from the goth before I sold it, super low action, plays like its worth a lot more than it is.
Biggest problem I think is owning it may lead to a gibson.

Have some rics and other basses too, but there's just something fun about playing on a tbird that isn't quite the same as my others.
Not saying I'm planning in giving up my others, but I know there's always going to be a tbird in the stable.

The Epi Classic Pro IV is an amazing bass and definitely up there with the Gibson...

I've seen posts with people saying that.
Personally I haven't been anywhere in awhile that had a gibson tbird in stock, so I haven't been able to check on out first hand.
Thing I love about this one is it has the gibson pups, it's got the 9 ply neck thru, and I don't feel bad turning wrenches and changing parts on it, only thing I'm not crazy about is the poly finish, simply because it's a nightmare to remove if I wanted to repaint the 'bird.

I'm going to have to dress the frets on it though, the winter has really made the ends pop out, but no big deal really.

They offered a decent price on it, but some tool bashed a chunk out of it, so I passed.

Those of you with white/alpine white TBirds, how has the finish held up? I have two white basses (A Hamer and a BC Rich) that I've had for 30 years now, one has really yellowed and the other sort of yellowed with time so I'm reluctant to indulge in another white bass, as much as I like the Alpine white TBirds.

My Gibson (Classic White, kinda creamy) not Alpine White has yellowed and sweat stained considerably since 1989, no doubt because it's a nitro finish. At first I was unhappy about it, now it has it's share of dings and the finish is wearing off the back - just plain kickass real mojo
