Don't call the game just yet though! I have heard of a few other pickups sought out for this application, one that comes to mind is something called a "Pitbull", don't remember the maker. I'd say though, that since you've done the rout for that one, maybe you should keep your eyes open for some other possibilities? I'm returning my Model One, only because 1) the original p'up has been better "fit" to its purpose by someone who seems to know what they're doing, and 2) I need the bread! But I was thinking of putting it in the bridge position... I remember seeing a photo of Leon Wilkinson's Thunderbird bass on this thread, with what looked like a Model One down by the bridge. I've been curious about that ever since.
I've been thumping around on mine with just the neck pickup selected though. Seems to have more volume or presence, or both, that way- but it's going to rehearsal tomorrow, so that may be a different story. And maybe with the right bridge pickup, we might enter another dimension... one not only of time, but of sound...
