I definitely get a "douchey" vibe from him and he doesn't seem like the type I would have anything to do with at all, so I tend to agree with your assessment. Of course he probably feels that way about me too and I am fine with that.

Wasted speech ... now there's a thing. I got into a massive (online) argument a couple of years ago over people talking/shouting/playing crappy music etc in designated quiet carriages -- how very DARE anyone tell them to be quiet! Apparently there is no right to remain silent.

Well @Count Bassie ol pal I did it and Im not too excited and Im not too dissapointed. The EB3 bridge pup was just sitting there wasting away and I didnt want to wait any longer to find out what replacing it might do for sound improvement. I think the Rick pup does add a different tone as expected, a small improvement over the mini humbucker.

Well there you are. I'm a little disappointed, actually! Sorry it didn't blow your mind...

Don't call the game just yet though! I have heard of a few other pickups sought out for this application, one that comes to mind is something called a "Pitbull", don't remember the maker. I'd say though, that since you've done the rout for that one, maybe you should keep your eyes open for some other possibilities? I'm returning my Model One, only because 1) the original p'up has been better "fit" to its purpose by someone who seems to know what they're doing, and 2) I need the bread! But I was thinking of putting it in the bridge position... I remember seeing a photo of Leon Wilkinson's Thunderbird bass on this thread, with what looked like a Model One down by the bridge. I've been curious about that ever since.

I've been thumping around on mine with just the neck pickup selected though. Seems to have more volume or presence, or both, that way- but it's going to rehearsal tomorrow, so that may be a different story. And maybe with the right bridge pickup, we might enter another dimension... one not only of time, but of sound...

I might have been a tad negative but now that Ive had time to play with the blending, Im finding the Rick pickup adds a nice color of brightness to the highs where the original pup sounded more reminiscent of a hollow tin can. I can play some serious lows and get a crisp clean tone without sacrificing bottom end. This might be cool:cool:

So.... how about a clip? Is that handy? I've always loved me a Rickie, and have considered adding that very pickup to either my Bird or this EB...
