The Classic comes with Gibson pickups, but couldn't say for sure if they are 'vintage' dimensions.
To partially answer my earlier question, the Epiphone website says the Classic and VP necks are '1960's Rounded Bass Profile' whereas the PRO IV is 'Slim Taper'. The next question is, is '1960's Rounded Bass Profile' similar to a J neck or....?

Would used Classic plus new Embassy come out similar price to a new VP? The unanswered question. For embassy is place holder for embassy / JC / etc etc
2. Considering the Pro IV neck is different in construction to the Classic (and I prefer the Pro look) I guess there is every possibility that it would be different.
3. I’ll put it on the list. Be creepy at night, I’ve been swooped by the flying foxes before and it was weird / creepy. Too many Hammer movies as a kid.

I think the biggest difference on your question on the Jazz neck is, is that it is flatter, vs. rounder. Did that make any sense?
FWIW, I just put the measuring wire to the Bird and the Jazz. Virtually identical in width at the nut. About 1-1/2". So with that comparison on these two basses, The Jazz is flatter and the Bird is rounder, as far as fingerboard to back of neck goes. Blah, blah perhaps.
I hear you. The J neck depth on the NR41KB is .83" at first fret, .99" at twelfth fret and the radius is 10", which makes the FB a little more curved ... but the neck is also noticably deeper from front to back.
Let's call the J's .83" 21mm for the sake of the argument. The neck on the Epi is roughly 18mm deep at the first fret = 1/8" less. The J neck feels chunkier, but surprising (to me) easier to play.

Makes a lot of sense Kat. On my J, the radius is 7.25. But really wide at the heel. And flat.
So if the Classic/VP is closer to 21mm/.83" deep at the first fret I'll be pretty happy.
I bet it's going to be a comfortable neck. And those pick ups in the VP will be fine as well.

I took @hillerup ’s suggestion and took 1 screw from each tuner and string it up. But the insert pulled up!
As I was taking the strings off I decided it was a good time to test it… with 2 strings. SOUNDS GREAT!
I remember people suggesting epoxy for this a while ago, any suggestion for what epoxy to use? Or any other suggestions?
I took @hillerup ’s suggestion and took 1 screw from each tuner and string it up. But the insert pulled up!
As I was taking the strings off I decided it was a good time to test it… with 2 strings. SOUNDS GREAT!

epoxy is epoxy is epoxy
just use a very little and don't get it inside the screw threads ... or you could try toothpicks/cocktail sticks.

I just assumed they’d be the same.
It's been a while since I compared the Pro-IV to the Classic Pro-IV - But apart from the obvious differences in construction: 7-ply neck (Pro) vs 9-ply neck (Classic) and slightly different headstocks (the Pro has a downwards slanted headstock vs the Classic which has a straight headstock) - I do belive there is a small difference in thickness of the neck, with the Pro being slightly thinner front-to-back than the Classic, which has a slightly more rounded neck profile, however I'm not fully sure about it - Both necks have a 1.5" nut.

Glue a few toothpicks into the cavity, and then press the inserts in (glue is optional). When everything in place, remember to keep the front stud raised slightly higher than the two side studs, to avoid them from pulling out again.
You could always glue the inserts in with either epoxy or superglue, if you don't want them to come out again.

The hole isn’t bad enough for toothpicks. I can’t pull the insert out by hand, only under the tension of 2 string. So I don’t think there’s room for toothpicks
I just got done spending almost two hours with my Gibson TBird IV and my Classic Pro. Ran through a bunch of songs the kids are currently playing or learning. I ran them with Ultimate Guitar Pro playing their parts for me and me trying to keep up. That’s such a great tool for practice. I turn down the bass part and run it all through my amp.
That’s the longest I’ve played at one time for as far back as I can remember. My backs a bit sore as I only practice standing and now I’m ready for my recliner but boy that was fun!

You'd want those flat and thin toothpicks. TBH, inserting toothpicks and 'gently tapping the inserts home with a hammer' ... I'd be slightly worried I'd split the body. If it were me I'd go straight for the glue. It's not like you're going to wreck the resale value of a $70 bass.
