Thunderbird Club

That might be inevitable, BUT the good news is I got confirmation that my Bird was in L.A. a few hours ago and is ‘in the system’ with an estimated delivery of a week from today. Seller told me he’d handed it off to UPS early Friday, but I’m not gonna shake him down over something that minor. And occasionally things show up quicker then their estimated times. Maybe I can put off n+1 until after Christmas :)

And look for somewhere else to live the day after Christmas! The girl is a real sport about this kinda stuff but there’s gotta be a limit and I’d hate to find out what that limit is the hard way :)

Nah man... ya got it all wrong! All ya gotta do is "ask Santa" for your new Thunderbird. If you can get your wife to think it's her idea... yer off the hook! SHE spent it... not YOU;)

I prefer to think of it more as "problem solving";)

I love you so much. And I mean it this time!

***IMPORTANT NOTE***

It's imperative that you remember this very important detail! If you ask for it, and she gives it to you... you have relinquished your right to complain about how much she spent on Christmas! That may not be a big deal to some folks, but to others, it definitely is!

(I just felt I should bring that to light. It's important to have ALL the ingredients before ya bake it;))

Really ain’t no free lunches, are there?

I have an ambivalent relationship with trans black. Kinda wish the Epi was Ebony or Stealth Black. A refin would be super expensive here.

Trans black rarely looks "right" to me. Unless the trans black is over a nicely figured wood I prefer a solid black/ebony finish.

I kinda like the transparent finishes. Case by case basis.

Definitely depends on the color. Some finishes look great in transparent others not so much.

That's why it's called Boxing Day -- cos you're packing all your stuff in boxes....

Oh.., I thought it was using the boxing gloves you and your sibling got on X-mas morning. (as my brother and I got as kids in the 50's - it was documented on 8mm home-movie film!) :)

In NZ, timber formwork is called 'boxing'. As a child I always thought it had something to do with concrete. When I hear 'Boxing Day' I smell wet cement.

That's a new one. Pouring concrete the day after Christmas. Up here on this side of the globe, it gets too cold to pour, so that's generally iffy. Down in the antipodes, it would work just fine.

I have a good friend who does concrete - I'll have to ask him if that phrase is used here in CA.
