Southside Guitars here in Brooklyn just got a white Greco Tbird that’s not online yet, if anyone is interested. I didn’t plug it in, but it felt nice. They also have a 60s Gibson that’s also not listed yet, and a 76 that is.

I work not to far from them. But I'd just be to torturing myself if I went to check them out. Dollars not a thing in the near future for me.
Indeed. Especially since to get a good sound you also have to be paying attention to your bow speed and placement.

There’s also a Ripper with 3 hours to go. Only one bid of $749. If that sticks, it’ll be the cheapest price on a Ripper I’ve seen in quite awhile. Really want another one someday
Reserve's not met yet and is probably way north of a grand since the BIN price is set to $1,350 + $62 in shipping.
It's probably a good price at its BIN considering what other Rippers are listed for.

That means it is a good bass. Somebody wanted to play it... a lot!
Perhaps. Could be that they only had the one bass and 40 years will do that if it's being played a lot, good or otherwise.
It's had pots removed and who knows how she sounds or plays. I wouldn't buy it for that price or any price TBH unless my intention was to restore it and then it would have to be at a price that made sense.

It belongs to the lucky guy or girl that has 5 hunnerd bux! JUMP ON IT!!!
I look at heavy player wear as a sign that a bass has something special to it. Actual relicing from use is what I like, not the faux relic. To each their own tho.

My old maple G3 and Ripper from my childhood looked very similar. Odds are it’s just a visual thing and doesn’t affect the playing. Personally, I love that well played look
I appreciate it, but there's nothing I can do. It's a stoopid good deal, even if only from an investment stand point. I've watched a half dozen of those sell online for $1,000.00 - $1,500.00 just since I became aware of them a few months ago. If it were my money (and wasn't interested in keeping it for myself), I'd snatch it up, give it a good cleaning & make sure it's gotta clean bill of health, then sit on it until a safe distance past the holidays. Once people have had the chance to recoup from their holiday expenses... list it online & double/triple my money back

Sounds like a reasonable plan. We are having a plumbing emergency right now, and my plumbing skills aren't up to it. There goes any n+1 for me for quite a while. When the flow isn't going downhill and you can't figure out why, it has a tendency to be expensive. It's kinda frustrating, but it's a first world problem.
