Thunderbird Club

Is considered jumping on it at various points, but I figured it’s your bass!

So now that Mike has said that he can't swing the bass are you going for it?

What about your shortscale Gibby - Did you forget that, or has it already been sold? ;)

Nope, haven't sold it. What was once a "must have" is now just another bass on a wall hanger. I like it but I'd sell it if someone wanted it... but I'm not actively looking for a buyer. Kind of like my Ruby Red Epi Custom Shop. I've meant to list it since the day that my 5 string NR sold but just haven't gotten around to it. Someday, I'll need the wall space for other basses and I'll list, "Dorothy". Till then she hangs right next to the Alpine White Classic Pro.

The problem of needing the wall hangar for a different bass is easier solved by buying another wall hangar!

You musta missed this line in my posting:
"If it were my money (and wasn't interested in keeping it for myself)..."

If I had the flow... hellzyeah I'd be all over it for a keeper! Unfortunately, that's not the case. I just mentioned the resale thing as an opportunity for wunna y'all. If I can't have it for myself... it'd be nice to see a brother or sister benefit from it in some way...

Got it. I read that line but wasn't sure how you meant it and whether or not the possibility to flip it overrode the desire to keep it.

I've got six in that room already with two 6 strings in stands. If I had more wall space, the guitars would be hanging. ;)

I kinda doubt it, though it’s very tempting! Probably shouldn’t consider anything until after the holidays...we’ll see :)
For similar dough I could grab an Epi VP, which is very tempting

With as elusive as "extra" money is... fat necked basses I like, are far more rare;)

Are those ProGo’s nice? My Bird is coming with a case, but I prefer good bags for gigs. I have a bunch of ok bags and one really nice Mono Vertigo. So far all of my basses fit nicely, including my 35” scale Drake
I’ve got no personal experience of them, but they’re the only ‘gig bag’ that folks on here seem to hold in any kind of esteem for a bird, and while my huge Thomann bird bag is fine for the bomproof Tokai with a redwood for a neck, I wouldn’t want my classic pro rattling around in it.

EPIPHONE THUNDERBIRD BASS FRETLESS CUSTM SILVER SPARKLE finish!! CLEAN! | eBay
no affiliation - this is what happens when a T-bird and a Fender have offspring...

I'm not surprised that this is being offered from "Fashionable" Ferndale, Michigan. A bit eclectic down there on the border of Detroit...

Is the reshaped horn the reason you see some 7ender DNA there? Seems to me to be a modified Epi Body with an Epi neck that has had the fret board replaced.

Oh and that amazing "custom sparkle $600 paint job". :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

A little over the top but hey, the whole of the listing is a bit hyperbolic. He's looking for a sucker, IMO.

I know - that’s what I want to know, as it will determine what case I need to shell out for next. If it will fit in my existing Epiphone hard shell i’ll Use that and look out for a gator ProGo for my classic pro. If not, who knows?

I'm pretty sure the Gator ProGo will fit the VP no prob. I have an Epiphone Elitist which also has the huge headstock and clover tuners, and it fits it well. It, however, will not fit in my Mono Vertigo.

Unless my ‘76 P bass sells, I’m gonna chill on buying anything else until after the holidays. If the P bass sells, I’ll put an order in for a VP post haste...now to decide which one. Leaning toward white
I would go for the 'Bird, but I might be biased.
