@theFixer, just wanted to point out that the 80's Gibson IV Bass that we had previously discussed is ending in 12 hours. I messaged the guy and confirmed that there is no reserve and confirmed the SN shown on the back of the headstock so that I could plug it into the Guitar Dater Project website. It is a 1987 made in Nashville. A 30 year old American Classic that's rare!

Yes. No problems down in the Basement of Bad Ideas. Which gives me an idea - crank up a 'Bird through the 360 and aim it at the offending pipe. Vibrate the problem away! What could possibly go wrong?

Are those ProGo’s nice? My Bird is coming with a case, but I prefer good bags for gigs. I have a bunch of ok bags and one really nice Mono Vertigo. So far all of my basses fit nicely, including my 35” scale Drake

The ProGo is excellent. My 2013 goes everywhere in it, including the NYC Subway with sometimes limited overhead height. Neither the bass nor the bag is any worse for the wear. Highly recommended.

I just looked at them on Sweetwater. Sweetwater has three official boring Will burst VPs. They look identical or perhaps better than the Gibsons I already own when it comes to their finish. Well, as far as anybody can tell from pictures on the internet. The wood, finish, colors, and stripes in the neck look very Gibson-like.

Nope, haven't sold it. What was once a "must have" is now just another bass on a wall hanger. I like it but I'd sell it if someone wanted it... but I'm not actively looking for a buyer. Kind of like my Ruby Red Epi Custom Shop. I've meant to list it since the day that my 5 string NR sold but just haven't gotten around to it. Someday, I'll need the wall space for other basses and I'll list, "Dorothy". Till then she hangs right next to the Alpine White Classic Pro.

Hey Lar... I know who needs to take that short scale 'bird off yer hands! @GBassNorth has an impressive collection of short scaled basses... but I don't recall there being a Thunderbird... hhmmm...

Update on the RNR. Finally called, since I hadn't heard back from a couple of emails. Shop's backlogged, hand injury, etc. Should be done by the end of the month. Hope hope.

There was a brief era when all my basses were white. Then it seemed to be only white, black or natural. I’ve owned colored basses, but they never seem to stick around. Not really sure why either.

...well, technically it is in mint condition after redefining the lower horn, cutting a new pg, de-fretting the neck and finishing it with silver sparkle. - just not "original" condition

Black, white, and sunburst choices aren't normally too exciting, but in the case of the VPs, I think they all look great. Now I'm tending toward white, because who doesn't want to be a sex bomb? I was also pleasantly surprised by how close in pictures the tobacco sunburst looks to my old '76 bicentennial.

White instruments become whatever colour hits them and bonus if you've got some silver metalflake or a white MOP pickguard!

I think all the VP’s look equally good. Really do. I was specifically hoping for a natural finish when choosing my first one and feel lucky to have found one for such a good price. I would happily rock any of the VP’s though

Nah, looks more like the owner wanted to turn his Thunderbird into an RD with that modified lower horn. Other than that, nice color and interesting fretlines.

I have one red bass guitar. The rest are all burst. I have one sparkly green guitar, the Zombiecaster. The other two are burst. The P-Bird and Tele-Bird are both transparent red, so those will make me a little less boring when they are done. Not like a silver sparkle or white one, but then I don't have the legs to pull it off.

One burst Jazz, one trans blue bass, one red guitar. The rest are black or some form of white. One sunburst is enough for me.
