You must be fairly tall...those ain’t tiny basses! I’m 6’4”, so in no rush to swap everything over to short scales like so many folks on TB. I get it for folks with arthritis and older folks though

Crap, I won... $800

Bidding on that 120 anniversary bird, just in case...2014, right? Do 2013’s and 2014’s stack up pretty well?
Yes! Both years are solid basses. But if you can find a 2015 Gibby bird within $200 of the 2013/14 price go for the 2015 instead. At least that's what I'd do.

Edit: just saw your latest posting. $800 for that bass was a steal! Well played! A 2015 bird would have cost you nearly twice that price.

Good stuff -- you have been assimilated. Let the initiation works commence!

First order of business, get that pick holder off the scratchplate. Perhaps one of these for you -- Link Removed

And where are you going to put the chrome?

Oh, I dunno. Gonna look at it for quite awhile before I decide anything. I typically like chrome pickup covers, tailpiece and tuners, but I like the bass a lot the way it is too. Pick holder will be removed ASAP. Maybe a tort pickguard?

:)
