Thunderbird Club

Lovely Royal Hudson (4-6-4 wheel arrangement is called a "Hudson" after the river in New York), the Canadian Pacific pleasantly styled the locomotive incorporating a bit of a European look to it while retaining a North American look. Maroon with gold pinstripe, very classy.
I'm out for a dinner tonight is the Duesenberg picking me up :woot:

May i escort you?

Let's make a deal - you buy me the '37 Cord and I'll be your man servant for a year, chauffeuring your cute little butt all over town!:smug:

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I bought a 2000 TB a few months ago with slightly a bit warped pickguard, fixed the warping with hot water and some pressure, only to discover that the same pickguard has shrunk. So I am looking if anyone can provide me a scan of the pickguard with a ruler next to it (scanned altogether) for scale... Please? Going to order a new one, probably in red tortoise - since my TB is in ebony. Appreciate it!

Meaning, hold out for a Gibson?
If it were me, I'd be searching for a clean mint condition used 2015 Gibson TBird with OHSC. At around $1300 to $1500 and holding strong (if not going up), it appears to be the TBird sweet spot to me.

That said, I do have an Eppi VP on order that will arrive next week. I can compare it to my 2013 Anniversary Gibson Thunderbird and my 2017 Epiphone Goth Thunderbird when it comes in. So far I like the neck through Gibby more than the bolt on Eppi, but the Eppi VP has a neck through and may change that opinion. Next week should be telling if you can hold off until then.

I'm all ears on this.
I've noticed my Bolt on neck Bird (Goth, with I think a maple/rosewood neck) is much more mid focused than my Gibson mahogany laminate neck through Bird. Even with a pup change and going from passive to active and stringing with tapewounds there's still a prominent mid hump.

That is my concern with the Greco set-neck vs the neck-through Vintage Pro.

Opinions, please. I’m on the verge of buying my first bird. Looked at plenty of em, including Grecos, Epis and Orville’s but can’t help but think the first one should be a Gibson. What do you fine folks think?

Grecos are supposed to be great. However, if you’re eyeing one at a shop in North Texas, then they’re rubbish!
