Thunderbird Club

Feeling pretty good about it :)

At that price, I don’t think I can lose

Great price!!! You can't lose with that one. If it doesn't work for you someone will buy it from you with no lose to you.

Has anyone tried red tortoise pickguard on Thunderbird EB?

I thought I had seen a Mike Lull bird with tort but now I can't find the image online. Maybe I just imagined it.

I’ve lived in Nashville for 20 years. There’s great stuff and terrible stuff and no one is forcing you into any camp. Still some amazing music and artists here. We have great punk rock bands, doom bands...everything
Punk: LTD (Lonesome Town Drifters)
Doom: Howling Giant

Look 'em up. They're great.

I'm sure someone will be able hook you up with a scale tracing of the correct scratchguard.

I'll scan one with a scale laid next to it and send it along unless someone else wants to do it before I can get to it which will be later this afternoon.

My pickup didn't start this morning which wasn't a surprise. It had been turning over a bit slower on start for about a week. I wasn't too concerned having three vehicles so I just jumped into another one and went on to work.

There are things in this world that are just PLAIN wrong...... Anyone with a surname that begins with 'T' and ends with 'P' being allowed on a ballot paper! Scratching your ass and then playin' your friends bass without washing your hands! Putting mayo (not ketchup) on fries! Putting tort anywhere near a 'Bird! What you get up to in your own basement with your 'Bird is none of my concern, but posting pictures in public of your 'Bird pimped in tort! Shame on ya!!!!!

So I guess I'm out of the club...

The first Bird will choose you. That's how it works. I went to buy a cable and ended up with a Bird.
Yep...in my case I just in for strings and came out with the Thunderbird. This experience has taught me three things.
  1. A Thunderbird might just be the greatest bass for kicking ass and taking names and showing the rest of your band that the bass really is the coolest instrument.
  2. Epiphone can and does make really great bass guitars.
  3. I finally understand why some bassists never change their strings!

Well, I don't see my dad (Semper Fi til the day he died) and me with hair almost down to my ass! :) But I sure don't see that eternal 25 year old I feel like on the inside! :)

I can totally relate to this statement.

Well, I wasn't taking about hair because my dad actually has more hair than me or my brother at this point... and he's 21-22 years older than us. :roflmao:

...but the face, that's right on and the facial expressions too. We could definitely pass as brothers.

The week I decided a Thunderbird was what I wanted, I said it had to be white, and within that week, one just appeared on Craigslist, good price too. I had never seen one in the wild prior to that, but there it was. When I met with the guy, he also had an ebony Bird for sale too, so he brought that with him (we met half way), but when I held that white Bird, it was magical.
Same with my Studio V, I wanted to get a 5 string, and was still in love with the white TBird (still am, don't worry) I knew it had to be a Thunderbird. I wasn't even sure if they made Thunderbird 5 strings, but that week one showed up on evilBay for an amazing price!

It was definitely two weird events. I woke up one day, I had never seen a white TBird before then, but knew I wanted one. Same with the Studio V, never seen one, just knew that it had to be.
It was like The Thunderbird God's talked to me in my dreams! .... Or irony.... nah, it was definitely The Thunderbird God's

I could request a private picture but I live dangerously and I am not afraid to share my insanity. Who knows ?, it might just tickle the senses of some unexpecting victim with perverse tastes.
