Super cool idea.Hey I made a thing. I'e been wanting a black PG on my white thunderbird for a while, saw this on the internet and gave it a try with a scratched up copy of the wall I had. Needs some smoothing but I dig it.View attachment 2898775

I think it's great that they're innovating & evolving... it just seems like an risky way of doing it. To discontinue the thing that put them on the map, before the new stuff is tested and proven in the marketplace... that's a pretty big matso ball to be hangin' out there! On the upshot... I'm guessing the used market will have a surge when a bunch people sell off their RBs for the new stuff![]()
PJB has some really innovative stuff for scenarios like that too. Ultra compact, super high power, weird speaker sizes and configurations. Having never experienced one in person, I can't speak to their sound... but they present themselves well. I believe if I were a big city, public transportation kinda guy... that's something I'd hafta look into...That sounds pretty reasonable to me! RB’s have a weird tendency to last a very long time. GK did too good of a job on them
I will say in my circle of friends and working players around here, MB’s outnumber RB’s by a pretty huge margin. But a lot of guys around here might play two or three gigs in a day at different spots around town. Factoring in traffic and parking, it’s no shock they’re gonna want as few trips from the car to the venue as possible. I also think about players in large cities who use public transportation. We have a larger amount of truly great gear to choose from now than at any point in history. It’s a good time for bass players.
Kinda surprised someone hasn’t snapped this up yet...
For Sale - 2013 Gibson Thunderbird ( Ugraded ) Price Drop ,175
Chromed out with a set of ‘66’s and a nice price drop
A few too many significant digits for me. Rent and food... I know, I know. My priorities are kinda skewed. Nice bass though, and it's in the same state I'm in. Hrmmm.... wish I could.

Yeah, like tattoos and SUVs.Sad, sad, sad. With this micro crap fad it's no surprise.
For sure...I couldn’t afford it right now either. I’m in the process of modding one of my Gibson’s in a very similar fashion to that one and though I got a crazy good deal on my bass, it’s gonna cost a lot more than this guy is asking after what I spent on the parts to do the mod.
Haha, I use big amps, drive a suburban and have a few TatsYeah, like tattoos and SUVs.
It'll be worth it.![]()

I’m not bumming, that’s for sure![]()
I can see that. The RBs are like toys to my SVT. I never got how anyone could think they're big or heavy.I’m not bumming, that’s for sure
Funny, when I was a kid people were buying GK RB’s because of how small and light they were. Kinda the micro back when they came out

Today's Suburban is not what it used to be...when it was an actual truck.

You should try VW Bug. If you can fit a ton of clowns in one, of course you can fit a band and its gear.I’ve toured in one of those before
