Tax returns were good to me this year. But essentially, i've just gone mad.
Yeah, I get mad at tax time too. Grumpy for a month.

I've actually been to Inverness. It wasn't that colour.
Right. You've now got a pickup in search of a bass. You know, I’ve not really considered getting another one. My current rig has me 100% GAS free and I’ll never want another bass again
(Leaning toward black)
Check it out. Those two are based on Shakespeare. No, never read any. I tend to like biographies these days.
Not dissing the Epi VP, I'll probably end up with one someday, but my Gibsons really make me happy.
It happens, although not that frequently... I've had people coming up to me to tell me that my Goth looks like a weapon of bass destruction, which I kinda agree with.![]()
Found some cool self adhesive glitter foam. View attachment 2898228
The truth comes out. Found a 4003 that is not a dud. And it's awesome. May get me kicked out.

Started another remote session last night. Usually I play along with a track using a few different basses to see which one sits in the track best. Last night I went straight for the Cataldo with the TB ‘66, because I wanted to hear it on a record...just because.
Huge shock, it sounded terrific![]()
It’s a miracle"Huge shock, it sounded terrific"
Now how could that have happened?
Okay so I bought one last year. But none since then.
Yup, chromes.Very cool.
Those flats on that `bird?

No doubt! Decals cannot be ignored.Wonder if this also qualifies for the sticker thread I failed to start a while ago?
Nah, we shall simply point at thee, and verily shall we laugh heartily at thee.... all to hide our hidden jealousy.![]()
Sad, sad, sad. With this micro crap fad it's no surprise.Big upset over at the GK club. News from NAMM says their MB and RB lines are going away

Just to play devils advocate for a sec. GK have been extremely successful for a very long time. Maybe the new stuff will be amazing...? Smaller, lighter class d amps have completely dominated the market for quite awhile now. Well, past the ‘fad’ stage. I’m not defending or condemning Class d, just saying. Personally, I wouldn’t play an inferior sounding amp just because it’s smaller and lighter. That doesnt mean an amp has to automatically suck because it’s small and light. I’d just be open to the possibility that GK know what they’re doing and are bringing out awesome new gear. If their new stuff sucks, you can quickly snap up enough rb’s to last a lifetime for very little dough and you’re all set.Sad, sad, sad. With this micro crap fad it's no surprise.
It's kinda hard to imagine sales being down on the RBs. That's been their bedrock. THAT is where "the GK sound" came from. I would estimate that's what like 80 - 85% of GK owners have (based on personal encounters, and what I read online). The only thing I can think of that could explain a downward trend in sales, would be that the amps are too reliable & long lasting, so between a plentiful used market, and people using their amps for 20 years or more, they're not selling a lotta new ones. I have nothing to back that up. It's just an uneducated guess....Sad, sad, sad. With this micro crap fad it's no surprise.
Id say few are buying new ones. Alot available used and they don't really break. I just bought 2 used 700rbs for $300 each as opposed around $700 new. I think it's great that they're innovating & evolving... it just seems like an risky way of doing it. To discontinue the thing that put them on the map, before the new stuff is tested and proven in the marketplace... that's a pretty big matso ball to be hangin' out there! On the upshot... I'm guessing the used market will have a surge when a bunch people sell off their RBs for the new stuffJust to play devils advocate for a sec. GK have been extremely successful for a very long time.
