Mind is going places with those two stars like that. An inappropriate cover over the unused pickup rout would finish the image. Lace and leopard skin spandex, for instance.

That's why I start my morning here and not with the news or in the GP. There's always some amusing insanity emanating from Europe or Australia or somewhere to make me happy. Elsewhere? The insanity isn't so amusing.Still not sure why I subscribed to that “what would you do to save Gibson” thread. Some of the dopiest posts I’ve read. Did you know Gene Simmons was pretty much the only popular bass player to play a Gibson? Did you know Gibson owns Guitar Center? Did you know Gibson is THE MOST overrated brand on the market currently? Or that $2k for a US made instrument is ‘insanely overpriced?’
Way to start the morning :/
And here I was, thinking I was the only one that was the only one to think that.Mind is going places with those two stars like that. An inappropriate cover over the unused pickup rout would finish the image. Lace and leopard skin spandex, for instance.
Just cleaning house. They Classic Pros have become redundant.Maybe selling to pick up another Vintage Pro?
My Acoustic Control amps are paid for. If I was in the market for an amp, an MG800 would probably be on the list, along with all kinds of other Class D amps. I don't think the specific amp is that easy to pick out for most audiences in most situations anyway. But, paid for and functional is how I roll. My oldest ACC amp turns 50 this year, and it still cranks away just fine.Hate to say it but amp design has come a long way since, the 50s or 60s. After all the SVT amp was designed in 1969. Probably before may of you were born, or for sure playing a bass. In 1969 there was no Apple Computer folks.
I urge you to look into premier Class "D" designed amps. They have come a long way in quality and sound capability.
I''m not talking about cheap designs from Fender, GK, Ampeg, or the rest; But from quality amp builders like Jeff Genzler of Genz Benz fame so many years back. The Genzler MG800 amp can do everything an Ampeg SVT refrigerator can do and much more. And weighs in at 6.25 lbs (800 watts versus a 300 watt SVT Ampeg at 80 lbs -- really??) And so not susceptible to issues with different speaker cabs.
Just saying there are choices, and just deciding on 40 year old "Old School" may not be the right one for many.
This is the Thunderbird Club. Why would you ever think you are the only one thinking things that would be inappropriate anywhere else? And here I was, thinking I was the only one that was the only one to think that.

I'm quite fond of my GK MB500. Nothing cheap about it.Hate to say it but amp design has come a long way since, the 50s or 60s. After all the SVT amp was designed in 1969. Probably before may of you were born, or for sure playing a bass. In 1969 there was no Apple Computer folks.

By that mentality, you only need one bass! And that’s not a world I wanna live in!Two staplers! What kind of master stapler are you where you can wield two staplers at once?!
Nice window, BTW... I can only wish I had a window that close to me while I suffer in my cubicle, day in and day out.

This is at the court house. It's a drag regardless.
They're for, like, different styles of stapling, though, right? I still can't shake the mental image of you as some sort of dual-wield stapling ninja!By that mentality, you only need one bass! And that’s not a world I wanna live in!

edit:
Here’s my view to a window in a door to an office that isn’t mine that has windows. Circled in red just to be clear. Anyone here jealous?

Well there’s standard staples, heavy duty staples. 1/4” staples, 1/2” staples, 3/4” staples… that’s at least 6 staplers! They're for, like, different styles of stapling, though, right? I still can't shake the mental image of you as some sort of dual-wield stapling ninja!![]()
