Thunderbird Club

Funny, I had similar opinions of the DR compared to the RS66, with the DR being warmer. And there I noticed a huge difference in tension. Maybe because I play with my fingers.
Live I play really hard so string tension and touch are subtleties lost on me, but even playing by myself (which is usually fingerstyle) it's not something I notice much, Rockmasters keep their tone pretty well, I'd simply forgotten how much I like them simply because I wasn't finding any when shopping for strings locally.

I am always nice to the sound person as well...never understood why people would get weird with someone who can ruin your gig!

Whoa! What a cool bass (I’d swap the pickguard, but it’s still awesome!). Great price too!

Never gets old :/

Just got home from the gig! It went well...terrible recording, but a pal took a short bit of video. The amp is much better now, though I’m still dialing it in. Also never played the T Bird with the Lollars live...that made me happy :)

A musician buddy said he thought the whole rig was the ‘magic combo.’ It sure didn’t suck!

Sounding real good Mark!

Great playing too!

I know pics can be deceiving - but are those tape-on pearl blocks? They look off-center, closer to the E string side of the fb. Considering the decorative pg, I'm guessing the owner added tape-on blocks (over dot fb markers). Stone me if I'm wrong.

You're right - No stones shall be cast good Sir!

Gibson has problems as a company. I gravitate to Gibson guitars, but that doesn't mean I have to think the company is all fine and dandy. Jettisoning Henry J would be a start in fixing it.

Exactly.
The owner is a Thunderbird Club member, I know him - Great guy!

He seems really cool from our interactions.

I am currently talking to this seller about international shipping on this second hand Cataldo and may bid, unless I am cutting across someone from here, if the shipping comes back acceptable and it stays reasonably priced. I haven't read all of the last 20 pages. Anyone on this already?.
