Thunderbird Club

Will @Gaolee is the authority, but afaik, those are not in the same league as the ACC 360 and 370 amps.

B-2 Bass head? - unofficial acoustic control corp forum
I don't know much about those, specifically. I had a B320, which made in the mid or late 1980s. B2 amps came just a bit later still, meaning late 1980s or early 1990s. As far as I know, it's a solid, reliable amp with useful features. I don't know if they have any defining sound or presence. The earlier amps got their sound from the head and cabinet in combination. One without the other doesn't do the same thing. I also don't know what cabinet Wagner era Acoustic heads sound best through. If the price is right, checking it out can't hurt.

Since we are on the topic of stock pickups, I would be interested to hear from some of you folks, who have a 2015 bird or EB from there abouts and can compare to stock pups in your other birds (@GBassNorth and @Gaolee?). I only have the experience with the 2015. So, I am really not familiar with earlier and more recent models. Please disregard the differences in coil tapping - think more of both pups full on. Try and avoid confusing condiment metaphors if at all possible.;)
So, colors then? I'm not sure how to describe the differences, with the exception that the 2015 pickups are powerful enough to cause havoc with your amp if you let them anywhere near the strings. Unlike the usual Thunderbird pickups, you don't want them close to the strings at all. Farther away is much better. As far as sound, I wouldn't say they are all that different once you get them in the right place. A bit softer sounding is all I can think of. It's about time for the 2015 to get out, so I'll make a point of thinking about how it's different from the other ones. You may have to remind me.

Rights of Initiation: Wearing butt bows, along with a tube top or polyester shirt? Interpretive dance? Ritual sacrifice? Showing your effects pedal(s) AND the box(es) they came in? Videos capturing new members involved in any combination of the above, while holding new Thunderbird?
Something about colors of sounds, too. Just for good measure. That one is open to interpretation.

You forgot changing ones avatar every other week.

Of course, I have been up all freaking night doing homework, so the first thought I had was "That bed looks comfy. Oh, nice bass too...":sleep::sleep:

Grabbed an old Sunn Coliseum 300 amp today...video quality is iffy, but I love it with the ‘02 Gibson w/ Lollars and flats. Just noticed autocorrect made it a ‘Sunny’ Coliseum! Ha! I’ll fix that later :)

I'm a fan of older and new Acoustic SS amps. My first gigging amp was an Acoustic SS and I have a more recent B20 combo amp (12" driver) that sounds great. I have yet to do this but I bet it would record excellently. It was on sale and so I plugged into it and once I heard it I bought it! Simple as that. Only bringing this up because you mention liking Acoustic SS amps.

I really do! This Sunn is pretty great as well. Too much room sound in the demo video, but it’s got great eq and tons of heft...and the Sunn logo is super cool :)

The 2 amps/cabs I lusted after as a teen were the roll & pleated sparkle "Kustom" units and the 360 Acoustic. Couldn't afford either then - and now, why would I own such! (big, heavy and generally unnecessary for my band needs) Traynor made some decent bulletproof amps also.

I have a Traynor yba 200-2. Really nice amp! I’d like to try their bigger SS amps someday!
