Thunderbird Club

*Sniffiling* I know.... I just feel like there was something we could have done.
Well, I don't think that the various microagressions and cyberbullying helped the situation. So what if #62 mentioned that they also owned P and J basses? It probably lead to them overcompensating, when it came to the fervor with which they approached the Thunderbird list initiation ritual. #sad

Bottom line, is the desired effect a sonic assault or a showcase of musicianship? (and I'm not talking about being a flashy shredder or Prog-rock wizard) I think excessive volume sometimes is a substitute for lack of the later, or at the very least it compromises any musicianship showcased.
Guilty as charged.

Many, many, many years ago when I was a teenager, I was the guitar player in a power trio. When we started out we weren't very good so we compensated by playing extremely loud.

One time we played an outdoor gig and as soon as we started playing the entire audience moved back 20 feet from the stage because we were so loud. Did we care? Nah, we were teenagers!

...falls under intent ;) - or pushing the audience out of the tent!

Just for fun, tried upright bass into the Sunn Coliseum 300. Voice might be tough to hear because I wanted the mic far from the upright to hear the amp sound. Blast Cult>fDeck>Sunn>1822

The amp is 300 watts at 2ohms. Wanted to see how it would do at 8 ohms.

Nice two-tiered tone (and showcased with cool triplets!) - plenty of distinction on either end of the double-bass spectrum.
