Thunderbird Club

Look, what happened to #62 was his own fault. Although the appeal is going ahead, the initial court found no negligence and went as far as to say that putting tort on a T Bird was not only reckless and provocative, but morally wrong.
*Sniffiling* I know.... I just feel like there was something we could have done.

The Lollars sit right between the ‘63 and ‘66. I have to say, Lollars are my favorite of the 3 but not by a mile. It’s present and clear like the ‘63, but chunkier and thicker, like the ‘66. The only thing I would’ve done differently had I known, would be to just get a Lollar for the neck position only and just put a cover/dummy pickup in the bridge for looks. The neck pickup is perfect and doesn’t lack anything.

Yep!

Lulls are spendy for sure!
Wow that's quite I nice description . Exactly what I'm looking for. Are they alnicoVs? How much are they? Probably cheaper than the thunderbuckers.

Thanks much for the feedback. I know what I'm looking for and I knew when I picked it up played it that it was the one. I've always been against ordering instruments sight unseen. I will get the ding drop filled and repaired but yeah, I'm not sweating it at all. I'll be so happy to play this thing live!
That's great that you found the one. Sorry if you've mentioned it, but I hope they took a considerable chunk off the price for that?

Be careful with that tower of power.
I could take about an hour.

Actually, the Lollars are pretty expensive. I believe the TB’s are $175 each, but you get a discount if you buy a pair. Lollars are $210 each. They are alnico V’s

Ya' know, with all the vintage Sunn & Acoustic, heads still floating around out there pulling yeoman duty. That has to testify for something!
Here we are 40+yrs on and they are still chuggin' along and kickin' it.
Nowadays, it seems like a fluke if you can squeeze a few years out of the newer silicon stuff before it craps out.
My 360 is a 1968 with one of the first 20 serial numbers. I got it second or third or who knows how many hand, and rumor has it that it was submerged and cleaned up at one point. If that did happen to it, you would never know from listening to it. It has had some maintenance and the speaker was reconed, but I haven't had to do anything except turn it on and turn it up for as long as I have had it. I have lost track of when I got it, so it's been a while. The Acoustic USA reissue was new in 2013 or so, and it seems like it's going to last just like the original. It can sound more modern if I want it to. Only if I want it to. I haven't tried any of the newer Guitar Center Acoustic amps, so I don't know anything about them.

The 2 amps/cabs I lusted after as a teen were the roll & pleated sparkle "Kustom" units and the 360 Acoustic. Couldn't afford either then - and now, why would I own such! (big, heavy and generally unnecessary for my band needs) Traynor made some decent bulletproof amps also.
Because they are big, heavy, and unnecessary. Is there any other reason to do anything?

The bass is amazing ! Exactly what I was hoping for. After intonating it and putting my straplocks on everything is perfect! The tone is so good! Action is low as well . Worth every penny.
The scuff in the corner in that photo doesn't look too bad, either. It sounds like the bass is so good that it will get played enough to earn a whole lot more scuffs. Mine have all the little nicks that happen when you bump mic stands, cymbals, singer's heads, and all that. It seems to be a requirement.

Ah, shoot. Now my agonizing about what to put in the '91 is starting all over again. Good thing there are projects lined up ahead of that.
