Thunderbird Club

It's become a fact of life. If the budget gets cut, so do the personnel. How many bass players does it take to change a light bulb? 0, the keyboard player does it with his left hand. I say that with no joy, just observation.:banghead::(

The other side is that there are a lot of songs that can be done quite well without keyboards running all over the guitar.

An "open mic night" style jam, can be one of the greatest shows you'll ever see IF you're in a room full of top drawer musicians. That seldom happens (unless maybe yer in New York, Nashville, N'awlins, LA etc.). An open mic jam at your corner bar, usually ends up being so uncomfortable & just plain bad... I find myself angry at the players, and embarrassed as a musician (even just as an observer). I just won't go to them. If they have that negative of an affect on you, I'll encourage you to do the same. It's important to challenge yourself as a musician... but ya gotta do whatcha can to keep it fun and interesting:)

I frequent a local "jam" night that is done in part by my bass teacher. He and some real pros run a local jam night (and get paid well for it). They will have any and all come up to play and/or sing with them. And their job is to make anyone who comes up sound good. It is one worth attending and the exact opposite of what you describe. I suspect the difference is that in my case, the bar pays top drawer musicians to run it and make people sound good.

Now there's a question (kinda along the Mary Anne or Ginger line).....

Back in 1977 who would you have said was the hottest - Ann Wilson, Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt or Debbie Harry?

Fast forward 40 years to 2017 - would you stay with your original choice?

Ann Wilson.

I've heard Fleetwood Mac way too much, and am beyond burned out on Stevie Nicks. Apologies all, that's just me.
Pat Benatar and Chrissy Hynde anyone?

Linda. Still with Linda.

Now who was that lovely creature who sang in The Motels... Martha... something...
Whoa, and Ouch, in the same sentence.

Ok 2nd reply.

So... 2 Amps isn’t going to cut it except at home for me.

I’m guessing that the 2 channels of my valve amp would work out ok ?
Still more than I want to schlep for this project.

Anyone got any idea on whether it would work with the outputs into a 2:1 connection into an amp ?
I f***ed with it some more later. Problem: when you turn off the POG, you get the "flat" signal through both amps-with the effect(phaser in my case)still going through the second amp. To "kill" it you'd have to step on both at the same time-or close, so it would depend on whether that bothered you. I thought about the Y-cord idea and I'll try that later. That would simplify the schlepping factor.. The 2 channels of the valve/tube amp should work, esp. if they're EQed differently. I might try that-if I can get to my 3 channel Peavey keyboard amp. A)It's buried, B)It's heavy-typical Peavey, built like a Sherman. <UPDATE> 1/2 hour later-tried the Y-cord. It'll work, but same problem of "killing" both-or leaving the effect(phaser)on. As stated, the KB-300's buried, but your 2 channel ____ amp should work very well, esp. w/ separate EQ.

Same here. Stevie Nicks’ voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Chrissy and Debbie!
The "waif" look generally doesn't age well. Neither does her 6(+/-) note range.

Yeah, that'll work.
