Thunderbird Club

I was playing with a loud drummer last night, and couldn't get the upright amplified enough without weird feedback. Plus, digging in way too hard raised a blister on my right middle finger. That's bad. So the fretless 'Bird came to the rescue. It doesn't sound anything like an upright, but at least it doesn't have frets. The fretless 'Bird with Bass Bars takes the usual somewhat scooped Jass tone, wrings it out, reinflates it, and then boots it out of the room. I was having a complete blast, and even kicked in the fuzz circuit, which almost never happens. Gotta love Thunderbirds.

Hi, Larry! :)

I reckom you NEED a single pickup TBird, Larry.

Hi, Michael!

Nope, not a single but rare, rare, rare.

I bought another bass this morning after thinking about it for exactly 3 seconds. Lol. I'll post pics as soon as I get it in. My wife is such an enabler too. I showed it to her and she was like, "Go for it!" Love that woman!!! :bassist::hyper::bassist::hyper::bassist:

Great! My wife has been a wonderful enabler as well.[/QUOTE]

I could use a bit of that...

My wife is a horrible disabler... :(

So you're getting a rare, rare, rare bird - Don't tell me you're getting that one-off Epi Pinkburst one!?

Post 'em up Larry! Let's see that beauty :)

I won't be seeing any new birds for awhile. I need to live vicariously through you guys ;-)

For crying out loud - Bring it on, man! The suspense is killing me! ;)

I got another Studio V! The black one this time. It's an anchor of a bass but I couldn't pass it up when it became available. It's another 2007 and from the pics it looks super clean! I felt a little sadness at selling my other one just because it was cool to have and I may just sell this one in the future as well. We'll see. For now, I'll just enjoy it for a little bit. ;)

Congrats on your new Thunderbird !!! :)

I had sneaking suspicion it was a Studio V.... At least this time it's black! :)

Sounds like you have almost the same relationship to a V as i have - you like to have it, but probably won't be playing it much - it's just gotta be there, cause without it there would be a void in the collection... :)

Looks great Larry! Congrats on the new addition!

You might as well keep this one.
You're reminding me of my relationship with the Sig P220 lol.
I bought one years ago, sold it, bought another, sold it, bought another...
Ended up owning 5 different ones lol.
Keeping the most recent one forever, finally learned my lesson :)

You're good at guessing and yes I wouldn't have gone for it if it had been cherry.

I'll hang it up for a while in my music room and if someone comes along with the right price I'll probably regret selling it but I'll sell it nonetheless. I had the last one for a year. Maybe I'll keep this one longer. It'll depend on how it feels to me.

BTW, I started playing the TV Silver with its clanky OEM round wounds on it and I sort of like it. It's definitely different than my others with their flats. It's got its place on the wall and looks good hanging there with the others. :)

The TV Silver is pretty decent and has a super narrow nut, like the Classic Pro, which is really nice. But those OEM strings Epi uses does have a nasty tendency to make your fingertips all black and dirty after just playing it for a little while... :P

That's a lot of handgun right there! I've always liked the Sigs but never could convince myself to spend that much when the lesser brands were so much more affordable. They sure are nice though.

I love them. Definitely worth it IMO.
That being said, i was into them before the prices got out of hand a few years ago, and the last one i purchased was a sig certified pre owned. Got it for a steal!

Oh, we're talking handguns here... I was just about to google a Sig P220 bass... ;)

Fortunately we have very strict laws about guns, so they are not very common here, and there are no gun shops that I now of - Only shops for hunters with rifles and knives :)
