Thunderbird Club

putting this here just because Veronica (aka Tbird) shows just what a Bird sounds like!

That's a old video! We recorded a lot of the audio in my basement, I used my green '76. There's new stuff starting to come together for the band, NYE should be a lot of fun.

So I have my first practice with a potential new band next Saturday. First time in 10years actually playing in a room with other people. Took my set of rotosounds off my p and put them on the blackbird as I far prefer the thin neck (was tuned down to D standard before) and the E string doesn't seem go be tonally matched to the rest. Any ideas why this is?

Also had anyone tried Ernie Ball Cobalt roundwound strings? I fancy something quite bright and aggressive sounding
If intonation is spot on, maybe try a boil. Othrwise it may just be time to retire it and go with a fresh string?

Though my T Bird bros might dig this. This is what I do

Aside from the whole band/song being spot on, your Vince Neil is 100% the real deal.

What I've always wondered watching your pics and now vid. Do you carry (part of) the Nikki Sixx persona into your personal life? Because from your media you seem to be totally into it. (and that's not ment in a bad way - just in case)

New Bass Day today!

I finally got my short-scale hollowbody that I bought last week...

Haven't had the chance to plug it in yet, so I can't speak for the electronics. But build wise it's pretty well done - Neck straight as an arrow with minimal relief, nice low action, fairly good intonation, beautifully done finish and bindings on both neck and body, and excellent fretwork as far as I can tell/feel with no sharp ends.

Plays nicely acoustically, but I will surely need to re-adjust to the short scale as I keep over-stretching my fingers.

I'm sure this will be a fun bass to play! :)

That is an interesting question! I would say the answer would be yes. Considering I've been a huge fan since 1985, I'd imagine certain things rub off, stick, influence. I see things in similar ways I sapose. I have a very rock n roll/punk rock attitude, that F- you thing. Aside from that, being a Tribute, I try to maintain a certain way of doing things with regards to the band. I ask myself, WWSD?

Not crazy about how the controls are laid out but looks pretty nice.

I find that honeymoon period really short if I'm gonna use a bass with the band.

We (the band) are not currently in rehearsal mode - So it will probably last a while... ;)

Besides, I still have about 9 birds that needs to get their flying colors with the band - So I'm in no hurry! ;)

This has long been a potential bass of mine. Really love it but the nut width puts me off

Do we get more videos after NYE? The Nasty Habits are kinda one of my secret dirty habits
