I love my JC. That one is simply hideous. A regular JC would be a decent deal at that price; that one you would have to pay me to take away.
Unfortunate cosmetic mod. And you'd have to deal with screwholes after pulling the pg. A small mod, but with extenuating impact. Too bad. Yep, asking price now compromised...

No one wants this either, though it's a good deal more extreme:

I'm committed, as I've taken the mods much further, and it's its own thing. Still a great player and has potential for cool- really just needs cosmetic help at this point, it's been taken a long ways from home, ...it's a Hamer Cruisebass in soul only now.

Ok, different. Just saying there's no way I can sell it for a reasonable price, but wouldn't anyway. A lot has gone into it, including Jeff's old Rickie pup's.

I agree that looks ridiculous. It would look better with no pickguard! If I were to make a new pickguard for mine, I would use the original shape, but fabricate it out of 5 ply black.

Does anybody have an opinion on this version GK head? Any guess if the price is fair or not?

one of my favorite heads of all time....played one as my main amp (into a custom 2X15) for many years..
can be very sensitive to mismatched speaker configurations if of early manufacture. Bob Gallien later replaced the Darlington output stage with a more common complementary symmetry type...not a bad price...at 200 Watts, probably under powered by today's standards.....awesome sounding...
