Thunderbird Club

On the bench today. Extended cutaway Fenderbird I started building about 10 years ago. This was a prototype, I was going to offer bodies and complete builds but I got distracted along the way. At one time I had all the parts for it, looks like I'll be ordering a pair of Thunderbuckers, some 70's style tuners and other bits and pieces. Still working on the finish, did some leveling with 1200 wet paper. Lots of mistakes on this one but once assembled you can't see them.View attachment 3413992 View attachment 3413993 View attachment 3413997
I would play that, sir. Glad you're getting around to it!

Did somebody menyion Elvis? My latest addition to my music room .
Did you see the HBO doc The Searcher? I thought it was a classy documentary. They didn't get into anything 'controversial' - it was about his love of music and that's it. Loved it.

Keep yours. My 72 year old grandmother (back in’85) had one like this. I came across it the other day and man, oh man, do I want it.

What is the main difference with the Vintage Pro T Birds versus the standard IV I have now? The new pickups? They are the same pickups from the Embassy Pro which I may get instead because it’s got the wider nut width than the VP.

Pickups, neck-thru, two piece bridge. The VP also has an 1 1/2" nut but is a bit deeper than a Gibson Bird.
