I think many internet savvy people avoid connection to work contacts on social media. As you pointed out, too much at stake.

I do not have an active FB account. LinkedIn is there but as close to completely dormant as possible. Besides, I would rather blather on about TSOs than see what somebody had for lunch or thinks is the next trend in being successful at work. There are other ones like Instagram and Twitter that I do not exist on, never have and never will.

It isn't a matter of hiding. Many of my clients and most of my colleagues know I make noise in the evening. But, work is one thing and my own time is another. No point in tempting fate.

Yes they do. I think if I ever decide to move away all all tube heads , Ashdown will be calling my number. I was really impressed with the cheap one I had for a while years ago. Nice and warm for a SS head I thought. In fact, possibly the best sounding SS head I recall using in the last decade or so.

unlike most of their models that use an all SS preamp with a single tube parallel to the signal chain, this Spyder 550 model uses an ALL tube preamp which tonally sets is apart from the others....truly great sounding...add this to a Class AB Mosfet<EDIT> (bipolar, my bad) output stage and you get 500 plus Watts (4 Ohm) of pure joy....
I'm looking into getting one for myself...

That's what I like about it - it sounds more like a tube amp than a ss amp, primarily because of the two-preamp tubes in this model. That and that it is very basic and getting a nice tone is intuitive. I'm looking forward to hearing it again.

I have a FB account reluctantly and only for band stuff (and it's anonymous). I don't entrust my day to day doings to Zuckerberg's panopticon. I only have an instagram account because our former drummer stamped her feet until I signed up -- I find the entire concept nauseating (this isn't the anthropcene era, it's the narcissene). I used to design and maintain quite a few websites (still look after one for a friend) and remember the web before the panopticon took over.

The accounts/sites which are actually useful are Bandcamp and (to a lesser extent) Soundcloud.

Of course you would describe it as the panopticon. That is the perfect description.
