Thunderbird Club

I had to translate it...

Buy a British fake diploma, buy a British fake diploma [WeChat 857767150] apply for a Lincoln fake diploma #Lincoln University fake diploma certificate" to do a Lincoln fake diploma, do a Lincoln fake diploma, make a British fake degree certificate

I'm in. Where do I sign up?

EDIT: I just added that user to my ignore list and it cleaned everything up as I'm sure the moderators are on it.

Lincoln University ... will get you a long way in life.

The venue which just closed on us let you charge (and keep) as much as you want at the door. We were doing free admission with an invitation to punters to donate towards venue costs (sound tech + backline). Anything left over would have been split ... not that there would have been anything left over.

And yeah, I can bring in a few people. None of us drink. Sorry -- is that a problem for you?
Not for myself. I might have a beer packing up, but the way drinking laws are, I wait 'til I get home.

Only in respect to acknowledging the musicians that help populate the establishment. (not about drinking or alcohol consumption)

I suspect that's most of us here. It's me for sure.

I learned to accept long ago that artists are held in contempt out of jealousy of lack of talent and/or creative impulses. Stone cold fact.

if only...
We used to play at a place where a lot of the audience did drink water-along with whatever food they ordered. Since the profit margin on booze is much greater than on food, they began charging a minimum. It didn't take long for the regulars to voice their dislike of the new policy.
Place closed.

Gig days have a extra zest that a non gig day lacks. I actually think about what this old guy will wear. There is that "item count" so that I don't leave with less than I arrived. A bit of tension when the vocalist is running late. Some say it's pure combat. Pulling up behind an outdoor stage with a truckload of gear and hearing the on-stage band just killing it. Picking out the musicians in the crowd, wondering if they are way better than you. Will you throw a breaker? Will you get hit with a beer bottle. The possibilities are endless. I Love it.

Glad to hear an example of people standing up against such. The problem with musicians shaking the tree with a club to address things that would be more equitable for all (bands & establishment) is that even if you could get a few bands to stand with you - there are so many others who would gladly take your slot regardless of how they are treated. That's why they can get away with it and always will.

Exactly this!
There will always be someone with an ego big enough to take any opportunity to get on a stage... whether or not their talent can substantiate that stage time or not :meh:

It's not an ego thing really, it's a opportunist thing - like being a strike-breaker. Divide and conquer always works.

Then there are guys like me. Haven’t been in a band for years. And have zero time to do it with my current job working for the clampdown. I play to myself. My wife thinks I’m crazy. I probably am.
I met a guy at Bass Northwest who told me he would not play shows no matter what. He only played for himself and did some recording for fun. He said playing gigs was like being a furniture mover with bad hours and worse pay. He had a point. But I have been happily ignoring his advice.

Hey Gang...just a feeler post. I'm not 100% sure I want to part with her JUST yet. But considering putting my 64 Thunderbird IV up for sale. Shes the bass in my profile pic there. All original pick ups and pots. Typical neck repair. 76 TBird case. Inbox me if you're interested. In Toronto.

Don't do it! Really!

I did a gig back in the early 70s where we'd play 2 different venues 3-4 days/nights a week. Lots of large gear to move, inandout twice. I used to kid about getting a job with a moving company. In 84, I started driving 18 wheelers for the next 23 years. Pretty close. Still kept playing my THUNDERBIRD on the weekends.
