Thunderbird Club

So the power is back on - for now. No way of gauging as information is constantly changing. I've read where they most likely will turn it off again tomorrow morning. Just bought two bags of ice to keep food things from spoiling the fridge and recharging of phones and computer while electricity is here.
Stay safe, all you who live in California. It's not just a California problem overall. Right now, California is getting hit hardest. But, Oregon, Washington, BC and Alaska all have fires off and on. For the time being, all the best to all of you in the path. May the rains come sooner rather than later.

Very low-riding cool - but this would be my choice of 'ride' -

I thought about what bike I should ride after growing up and moving on from the Daytona. A Moto Guzzi is high on the list. Probably an older California. The black and white ones were great looking, and Guzzis are about as durable a bike as you could ever wish for. Newer Californias are too stylized for my eyes.

It looks like this, only with a few bling parts like flush LED turn signals and a cleaned up tail. Nothing stays like it came from the factory. And, for the record, the passenger seat is useless, so my bike doesn't even have passenger pegs on it for the time being. Can't haul a Thunderbird on it - that's another problem related to practicality.

My project is proceeding, a B neck, rosewood board, clay dots, vintage white headstock inbound, as is a vintage white J body. Thinking maybe routing it for Thunderbuckers or ?

To that end, perhaps I should get measurements from the Thunderbird bridge center (saddles) to the bridge edge of the Pickups?

Thoughts or input would be appreciated.
It would be more accurate to get measurements from the center of the 12th fret. The saddle position will vary depending on intonation. I can measure my VP tonight if you’d like.

The center top “cap” is a piece of maple veneer panelling leftover from my kitchen reno.
Well, whatever it is, it's gonna look great through the finish. 1219181018-00.jpg Kinda like the flame maple cap on my LPB25. 0327181131-00.jpg
