Thunderbird Club

What's the best/easiest way to clean the Thunderbird body? Mine's pretty dirty.
I just use a damp cloth on my basses and dry them off.

I'm gonna try stringing Testeclees(The T-bird) BEAD. The price for a B string(GHS Pressurewound) is the same as a whole 4 string set!?!?!???
I just use the bottom four strings of D'Addario 5-string sets. .130 .100 .80 .60

We have asked for pics of the back of the bass and an explanation of the flora growing on the fretboard- third pic.

And here's the back of that rising sun bass.
LOL

Is that what the back of an Epi neck looks like?

$1750 Buy it Now, which would be more than you would pay for a very good Gibson TBird second hand. Standard Epis would go around $200- $300 second hand.
I messaged him tactfully through eBay that his bass isn't a Gibson- no response or change to the listing.
Wow! That paint job must be some kind of special paint that turns whoever plays that bass into the next coming of Jaco, Lemmy, and JPJ all rolled into one!

So the RD build is completed

This was Saturday morning, at the loading bay, hauling gear into the 12-15 seater van. As you can see, one happy customer, friend & on his birthday is a good plus. I knew i was gonna finish this bass for Toronto weekend, it was a blast!

I did get shots & a few videos of the gig (not the best quality as is cellphone & right up front), but let me tell you: it sounds beast through his rig! He couldn't thank me enough for the bass especially since it was his birthday on saturday which was gig night :p & he wasn't even all that displeased with the "damage" i've done. Gave it personality & makes it truly a work of art. His guitarist, the one in the picture at the back, also gave me a draft idea for his custom guitar design. Still in the works cause nothing is final which is good since i kinda wanna settle my stuff first hahaha. But it's essentially a fender jaguar foundation, with the neck profile of his Ibanez RG guitar & dual humbuckers, stop bridge (like high mass gotoh). Fender look with gibson sound (mahogany body with a maple top - flame or quilt) he wants like a transparent green or blood red dye into the top to make it really pop out!

I'm satisfied that he's satisfied & his whole band & friends made great comments about the bass itself. It's now his #1 bass

Quicky:

Anyone know off hand if modern Thunderbirds (Gibson) have long or short shaft pots?

And the volumes are 500k, and tone is 250?

The Gibson site says 500k non linear for 2014 TBird, but doesn't specify tone and volume separately. 2015 TBird specifies all three pots separately and they are all the same 500K non linear.
I had a look in my 08 Gibson and I can't see anything engraved/ stamped on them except "Gibson". I was surprised that they are non linear taper because I think the taper is pretty even.
The shafts don't appear to be long.
